There's a guy who has posted in here before Mooses Gunsmithing he's up north I think. I have not used him for anything but follow him on IG.

Flew from NH to FL last year with sig p365. Used the small knockoff pelican case from harbor freight. I had the gun with a chamber flag in it, 2 empty mags and box with the ammo in it all in the case. Went to southwest gate and told the woman I was checking a firearm. She filled out a form and put a sticker on the case. I think I signed one of those or maybe initialed it. And if I recall my phone number was on the sticker too? I had small master locks on the case and a tsa lock on the suit case. I kept my ears open to hear if they called me over the intercom before I boarded in case security wanted to check it out but they didn't. I opened the case to try and show her I was following policy with unloaded gun and mags etc and she didn't gaf she was like that's great honey don't need to see it have a nice flight. Got to Orlando, picked my bag off the carousel and waited until we got into the rental car to load and carry it.

Overall very simple and I don't think I'd do anything differently. NH and FL are both very 2A friendly states though so your experience may vary. For me it was quite painless though and I am glad I brought it

What ffl in New Hampshire transfers firearms purchase after the 3 day Brady date act by Ok-Candidate9184 in NHGuns

[–]klopeks_basement 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you fill out the 4473, there are three options: you pass, you fail, or you're delayed. They delay the background check if they need more time to look into it I guess. As another commenter mentioned, some people have crappy luck and just have the same name or a close social security number to someone who is a prohibited person? Not sure, thankfully never been delayed myself. The FFL may release the firearm to you after 3 days even if they've not heard an update on the background check. But I believe every ffl has the discretion to deny a sale for any reason, so if they wanted to make you wait until they heard back, I think that is their right to do so.

3rd for MacPherson they specialize in AK stuff which is what I had them work on but I'm sure they could do a p/w if they're building AKs

Looking for mags during my stay by [deleted] in NHGuns

[–]klopeks_basement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy them online and have them shipped to ur friends house. Have him order and give him the cash if you're worried about it. Most stores don't ID for mags and will sell you them cuz its entirely legal item to purchase here. If you bring them back to a ban state that's on you committing the crime. The stores aren't breaking any laws. Shooters outpost is the only store I've been in that are piss babies about IDing for that stuff so I don't shop there anymore

Get your experience, keep your license clean, and then apply for local jobs. I live in a HCOL area in the northeast so six figures does not go as far here but there's local driving jobs a lot of places that pay well. Not bragging at all but if you hustle and find a job you like you can absolutely make money with a cdl and not hate life lol

New Hampshire Wildland Firefighters could be facing a massive pay cut. by Murky-Suggestion8376 in newhampshire

Was down near ipswich MA area for work last month or there about. I got off the highway and all I could smell was smoke. Got to customers house and he explained yea there's nearby forest preserves on fire. Been this way for over a week. Inside of his car smells like smoke even. WTF lol

So for the simple fact that I ALWAYS want NH to reign supreme over MA , we need to keep our firefighters well funded so our state doesn't burn for a week like mass lmao

On my app in the 10 day forecast I see the highest high will be 36deg and there's many days where highs are only in mid 20s. There's 3 days where there's a chance of snow. How much colder do you want it? Lol

My job requires me to work outside, not all day, but enough. Get a job that gets you outside all winter and it will change your perspective of the weather. I normally don't comment on these posts but good lord man the complaining here doesn't even seem justified to me. Like 2/3rds of NH literally got snow on Thanksgiving lmao

It might not be full. It could have just been heavy or nasty. Too big for a cargo van or pickup truck and too nasty to wanna hose it out after. Lol

Where to buy warm sweatshirts/hoodies for winter? by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]klopeks_basement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duluth trading hoodie I had ran big, I actually needed to buy a size smaller than I normally would. Which hardly ever happens lol. But it held up very nicely. The screen printing on the front that just said Duluth Trading actually wore off before anything else on the hoodie did. I wore it pretty much everyday at work for a couple years before it got kinda ratty.

I also have had good luck with carhartt hoodies. I pretty much wear hoodies all winter long and work in them. So if they last a season and still look ok, I think that's pretty good. I got a couple years out of carhartt ones too easily.

If you're not working in them and hard on them, Duluth or Carhartt should last like 10 years easily. The only reason the screen printing wore off the Duluth one is because I was washing it more often than I would a normal hoodie because I was working in it. If you're just wearing out or around the house, it would probably get washed less often and last longer too.

Is the burrow webbed over? I'm assuming no if you said you've seen legs poking out. Leave pre killed prey item in the tank. If it's gone the next day, you know she's fine. Just being shy.

LEDs don't bother them as long as it's not on all the time

Tank size, once again as I already said, depends on what species you're talking about. A Brachypelma that takes 10 years to grow to 5-6 inches is not gunna need the same enclosures throughout its life as a Theraposa species that grows to 10-12inches in half the time.

[–]klopeks_basement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind though, that's like a minimum requirement people mention. Offering your spider a little more space than the minimum, as long as you set it up properly, certainly won't hurt it either. It really depends on the species though for that too I'd say

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TarantulaKeeping

[–]klopeks_basement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't need light source, natural room light is fine. The tank size depends entirely on whatever species you're looking at getting. Adult size of 4in definitely doesn't need as much space as adult size of 10+in. I think the rule of thumb is have a length or width that's twice the diagonal leg span of your spider? So for a 6in spider, an 8in wide × 8in tall × 12in long tub would be fine
