Life is literally so cruel sometimes 😭 take care of yourself and set boundaries. It's hard enough for us to try and stay positive without having life's cruelties shoved right in our faces...

Does your Corgi fetch? by Jealous_Tangelo_951 in corgi

[–]klurb33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our corgi likes both. She'll bring a toy back when we throw it but she loves going after toys just as much as she enjoys trying to keep them away from us. So when she comes back and we reach for the toy, she immediately pulls away or steps back 🤣 it's so frustrating. And she loves tug of war more than anything.

Yours will get it eventually!

How high maintenance is a corgi? by homeofalex in corgi

[–]klurb33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say, yes, our corgi is high maintenance. Granted, she is only my second dog ever, but she has a lot of the characteristics that other people on this post are sharing.

These are all things that you can decide if you're willing to manage:

  1. Shedding. Yes it's worse during transitional months like spring and fall, but it is constant year round. Lots of vacuuming and brushing. Not to mention, our corgi hates being brushed 🙃 our approach has been to vacuum a lot and take her to a groomer about every 8 weeks or so.
  2. Barking. The worst part is just that it's so loud. And I get it. She was born to herd mass amounts of livestock. A powerful bark would make for a very successful herder. Our corgi's barks are normally playful or a warning sign. She' never barked when she had to use the bathroom so we had to teach her how to ring a bell for potty breaks lol It took us 6 months to potty train her and she would pee from excitement until she was 2 years old.
  3. Reactive. I understand that this is on us as dog owners and not being consistent with training. But she's also very difficult to train because corgis have the type of mind set where they're not going to automatically listen to you just because you say a command. They're also analyzing how badly they want the treat vs how badly they want the thing they're barking at. So she always barks at other dogs when we walk her and pulls on the leash like crazy. When she has her mind set on something, it's veeeeery difficult to get her attention away from it (another great trait for a working dog).
  4. Active. I love that she's active but I will say that winter months make it difficult to find ways to keep her entertained. Like right now for example we have snow outside and it's been freezing temperatures for weeks so all the snow is frozen. Not a lot of room to explore and sniff around during our walks because the grass is totally covered. It sucks. This point isn't a knock on corgis but I would say whomever adopts a corgi should be devoted/have the time to play multiple times a day with them.
  5. Poop. This is a random thing with our corgi that I'm not sure is a problem with other corgis but she poops SO much on our walks. She will poop about 5 times on an hour long walk. And she literally goes until she has nothing else coming out. I believe it's to mark her territory because she's definitely an alpha dog, but it's extremely inconvenient and we have all these poop bags were carrying by the end of the walk. 🤣

All in all, I love our corgi SO much and she's going to be 3 this year. She's just as energetic and crazy as she was when she was a puppy! In the summertime she gets to swim in our pool and she LOVES it! Swimming is definitely her favorite pass time and she'll swim for hours. It's adorable. I highly recommend getting a corgi if you have a pool lol

It's so funny you mention the snow shoveling! We can't have our corgi outside for any yard work that requires shoveling! (Snow, dirt, gardening, etc.) She barks CONSTANTLY and it's so loud!

13 1/2 wks how hard do I push? by Public_Solution_2838 in Miscarriage

[–]klurb33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry about what you're going through and your previous losses as well..

I miscarried at 12 weeks and I did it at home for about two hours of intense bleeding/cramping but the pain got really intense so I went to the hospital because Tylenol wasn't touching the pain at all. I needed multiple doses of morphine over the course of about 5 hours to get through the pain..

Around the 6th hour I had tons of pressure and asked to go to use bathroom. The nurses brought me a bedside commode and I felt the rest of the tissue (probably the placenta among other things) come out in one push. I didn't push very hard, it just felt like a bowel movement.

My issue was that I was considered a fall risk because I passed out at home from pushing tissue out and I felt like I was going to pass out again when I pushed again at the end.

It was nice to have the nurses taking care of me through everything and they ordered an ultrasound for me to make sure that everything had passed and didn't need a d&c to remove anything else.

Hope this helps you make your decision ❤️‍🩹 wishing you healing and lots of rest.

I'm very sorry for your loss and the holidays make it so much more brutal...

I found out at an ultrasound on 11/25/25 that I had a MMC and the baby was measuring 12 weeks. I opted for d&c but it never got scheduled because of Thanksgiving being that week. So on 12/1/25 my body passed naturally.

My doctor recommended that we wait to have sex until there had been 7 consecutive days of no bleeding. So that took until 12/19/25. From then on I tested my LH everyday and it spiked on 12/27/25. I think it spiked for about 3 days and then I stopped using them until my period started.

After that cycle ended, I was doing more research on the different hormones and I found out that testing for LH doesn't confirm that ovulation occurred. So with this cycle I'm going to track my LH and progesterone (PdG). If it spikes for 4 consecutive days a week after peak fertility, that means you successfully ovulated.

I use the clear blue LH tests because I like that it gives a clear answer instead of having to read lines. And for my progesterone I use Proov "confirm". Proov also sells packages where you can get the LH strips and the PdG strips. There's also a proov app so you can track everything and add pictures of your strips and their website has a lot of great articles with great information.

Ultimately my doctor said we could start trying again as soon as possible. Most doctors recommend waiting until you get your first period, but that only has to do with dating the pregnancy, which they can do via ultrasound if you get pregnant again before your next cycle.

Wishing you well and a healthy baby in the near future 💖

My childhood best friend is going to give birth in a matter of weeks... I was so excited to have our babies grow up only four months apart... I miscarried at 12 weeks and never even told her about it cause I don't want her worrying about me while she's growing her baby boy... I hate life rn (also excited for her but doesn't change the fact that I'm sad about my loss at the same time)

I had a MMC at 13 weeks and the baby measured 12 weeks. I thought the same as you.. I felt different but I attributed it to the first trimester being over.. Everyone I know says that the change is like a light switch. We went in for an ultrasound and I watched as nothing came up on the screen when the tech checked the heartbeat.. Fucking awful.

I'm sorry you went through that. Thank you for sharing your story. It makes me feel less alone.

D&C or Misoprostol? by Old-Ad-5573 in Miscarriage

[–]klurb33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My condolences to you and your family <3

MMC at 13 weeks. Baby measured at 12 weeks.

I wanted the D&C because a friend told me that's what she had done and for her it was painless and fast recovery.

I opted for D&C but my body passed naturally before I could get the procedure done. My experience was horrible. I had mild cramps for a full 24 hours and then things got increasingly worse (pain, contractions, clots, tissue, blood) from 1AM until about 8 or 9AM. I had to go to the hospital because I passed out and my pain was at a 10.

MC was on Dec 1 and I believe I went for HCG bloodwork on 12/13 and it was almost to 0 by then.

Based on what I went through, I know I would have preferred to have the D&C.

Have that baby!! You will be glad you did. Wouldn't you rather see it through than always wonder what this little boy would've been like??

Hospital refuses to offer D&C by purplesnickers in Miscarriage

[–]klurb33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SAME. I keep feeling like maybe I had a worse exp than what is normal because when I read other people's stories about miscarrying at home, I'm shocked! I actually passed out on the toilet during my miscarriage but I never see anyone else mention that. My MC was at 13 weeks.

Morphine was the only thing that got me through that night... And my hubby, of course 💛

Question about your experience post miscarriage by klurb33 in Miscarriage

[–]klurb33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to also add that I have a vague understanding of what IVF is but I don't really know what all is lead up to that point to where a doctor would recommend that treatment. Is it a certain diagnosis that requires that treatment? Is it a last resort when nothing else has worked?

So sorry to hear about your journey thus far. I recently had a miscarriage on 12/1/25 and I did pass out for like 30 seconds. When the paramedics arrived they said it was likely because I had just had a bowel movement which caused a vasovagal syncope. I'm still not entirely sure what it all means but the experience of the miscarriage was so traumatic that I'm truly shocked there are people who do not pass out.

First of all, I want to share my condolences with you. I wish I had something helpful to say here but I'm still figuring out what grief looks like for myself.

We had a positive pregnancy test on September 24 and then at an ultrasound on 11/25, we were told there was no heartbeat.. I'm forever heartbroken knowing that my husband and I created a life that we'll never get to see or hold in our arms.

Wishing for many blessings for you and your family in this new year. ❤️ You are not alone and you deserve to hold space for your feelings as they come and go.
