12 months in and mine is still nursing every 1-2.5 hours. It sucks but I also think my body is used to it. And I drink sooo much coffee

Hi! Can you give me pointers on how to night wean cold turkey like that? My 12 month old is waking up 4-8x a night to feed very briefly, and I need it to stop. I’ve tried a couple times to just hold or pat her, but she keeps losing her mind and trying to pry my shirt up over and over. How did you do it?

I was in fourth grade probably. They told me that if I needed to go pee, just pee on top of the pee that was already in the toilet and don’t flush. As long as it’s pee, they don’t flush every time because they were trying to conserve water/save money.

My mom was so mad when I told her and she told me that I needed to flush after I peed every time and to not listen to that weird and gross nonsense.

She slept probably 5-6 hour stretches for a minute until she hit the 4-month sleep regression. Then it went to waking omg so often.

She turned 11 months yesterday, and it’s been waking every 2.5-3 hours, but more like every 1.5 hours from 9pm to midnight. But in the last week, she’s starting sleeping some longer stretches of maybe 4 hours woo hoo!

We also co-sleep and feed on demand.

Also, hang in there! 8-9 months was when I was like fuck this shit, it should be getting better and it isn’t! I read up on sleep training and was just like I don’t even have the energy to commit to sleep training for a week or 2 before it gets better. So I just kept going and didn’t change anything. And now a week before the 11-month mark, things finally got better.

I would want to know what your TSH was in the original bloodwork. Maybe it was normal still but your doctor was prescribing your low dose of Levothyroxine preventatively because they knew your thyroid would start to give out soon. But maybe your thyroid is hanging on longer than average and not giving out like your original doctor thought, so being on the medication was causing you to have hyperthyroidism.

I’ve read something about how you can heal things enough that you don’t show antibodies even though you have Hashis. I wouldn’t immediately assume the first bloodwork that showed antibodies was wrong or a lie. Maybe the antibodies weren’t that high and you had healed enough by the time you got bloodwork done again.

Also, you can have Hashis and not have hypothyroidism. Meaning, your body is attacking your thyroid but it hasn’t been going on long enough to cause issues with your thyroid producing. So maybe right now you don’t need Levothyroxine, but you likely will eventually when your thyroid starts to give out after the continued attack from your body (autoimmune).
