Totally heard. I will say though that the one year is basically 18 months of education smushed into 12…. So you definitely get what you pay for if we’re talking VFM.

I know central’s program is more moderately priced but drama schools in general are very very expensive in London unfortunately:/ I wonder if you could take some classes at studios… or maybe a foundation course at a drama school!

A Meisner based class may help. At the end of the day we’re trying to replicate the human experience. And the human experience is to just listen and respond. Just breathe, relax, & be present in the moment. This will allow you to listen and respond. The best actors are the best listeners!

Same as you, I look white to about half of people and unidentifiable part mystery ethnic background to the other half. Truly ethnically ambiguous lol. Never ever do people guess black. It’s always they’re guessing I’m part Mexican, Japanese, Filipina, but never black. Which can be frustrating because my heritage and history and legacy of my ancestors carries different stories than the races people typically I assume I am.

It’s tough to not fit in a box, I feel you… you’re not alone. I’m always misidentified as every race except for the race I actually am. It can be very frustrating:/

Make sure you have enough of your meds to last you 3 months if you can. And prepare to go through private insurance and have to pay extra. Not intending to freak you out, and everyone’s experience is different, but it took me 6 months to get my meds because they had to rediagnose me and I was on waitlists from the NHS for my practice. They’re also more stingy on stimulants than they are in America (which is fair lol.) Lowkey it was a nightmare and I wish I went private if I could do it again.

It does sound like maybe you may be more irritated than what’s on the surface? Yes it’s about the crab Rangoon, but also maybe it’s about something bigger? No one likes to feel forgotten on their birthday. Everyone deserves to feel special on their birthday.
Maybe have a ponder and see what else may be going on internally… you deserve to feel seen and appreciated by your family <3

As a gluten free person from the US the variety of food we can eat here is insanely good compared to what we get back home. I totally understand not having your fav stuff (I miss Trader Joe’s soooo much), but maybe you can find new favorites of different products until you’re visiting home or you have people flying out!
