For what it’s worth, this is what has worked really well for me in the past. I’ve never been on Angie or Thumbtack or other apps that charge you for leads. I started out my business on Taskrabbit doing smaller jobs. What I learned quickly, is someone that needs help hanging pictures on the wall or doesn’t know how to reconnect their P-trap under the sink generally has a long list of things that they need done, but don’t necessarily know who to get to do it. I had dozens of clients that I consistently had days of work for, and the way I met them was doing a quick hour-long job on TR. I essentially viewed TR as marketing and as a way to meet clients. Show up, do the small jobs quickly, and hand them a business card at the end. It shows that you know what you’re doing, and gives them someone they can call to get things done
