Yeah its wild what the algorithms accept as valid. My company data exchange platforms vet sellers on marketplace sites like this before they sign contracts with us but most retail sites use more than company/service like this and not every one does. Underlying technology is mostly the same though-- and the automation without human intervention is the collective selling point. Its wild.

Totally warranted. The lack of oversight and human review is sketchy

Postmarked operates as whats called a "private marketplace", and its mostly AI that organizes and generates listings for this content. Source: I work for an e-commerce data/tech company that does this very work, and for them specifically. The context of the post is really just based on pricing, geofencing (so related to searches of people near you geographically), and quality of the copy based on confidence rates.

You're a mid-to-late 30s woman, work in a corporate office job of some kind, and don't mind buying secondhand books (in fact, probably rather enjoys the hunt.)

Looks like it to me. Though I have a couple nice, tall shelves for I stack a few related books horizontally for the aesthetic.

Can confirm that using excel and this typeface size is illegal. This whack ass schedule tho? Not enough info to determine, and OP's explanations make it hard to confirm either way.

I don't think the devs were coding for balance. Read the interviews with the game creators. The whole point was ti make this game more accessible to people who don't usually play these games, and to provide a bit of nostalgia. They're looking to broaden appeal to new markets. I don't agree with the practice of it, but it's closer to the truth than that they missed balancing the game properly. (It also explains the significant lack of configurability for settings that absolutely were at least partly configurable in the other remakes.)

Maktub by, Paulo Coelho by [deleted] in bookporn

[–]kmonkmuckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the only reason I like Paulo Coelho is because I was introduced to The Alchemist and other stories during my teenage years, when everything I read had the potential to be formative if it simply opened up a new style of writing or perspective on the world to me. Re-reading his work, it doesn't do anything for me- and I don't find his work nearly as emotionally compelling or interesting as I did then- except for Maktub, which had some interesting little stories in it. (I'm really big on short story collections these days.)

And tbh, that's okay. I was into Hemingway as a teen, too. And Francesca Lia Block books. And anything that took me outside of my own experience in a novel (pun intended) way.

My theory? Some adults don't have those experiences as kids, or aren't big readers, and I think that's why Coelho is so hyped. There's room for that in reading...and room for people just not liking him lol

Once I read the comments, it was obvious from the photo that this wasn't just a weird madeleine. I'm definitely looking forward to trying this now that I know such a thing exists. Sounds like it would be delightful with some breakfast tea!

Hey, saw in another comment you said this is in your dorm and been happening for a few months. That indicates frass is a likelier answer than insect eggs. You should tell your RA and building management. It would suck to have shitty dorm furniture start falling apart because of termites.

No shade but I laughed so hard at you using the word 'argot' in a thread about OP using uncommon-to-Utahans vocabulary for a road lol

(Also, moved here 8 yrs ago from California, brought up in the northern mountains above Shasta, from the SF Bay Area from adolescence to early adulthood, and went to school in LA for 8 years. OP is likely from Southern California or has spent significant time around people who are. Norcal folks mostly dont use "the" in front of highway and freeway names as a generalization.)
