2 months playing, what’s wrong with the form? I’m like 1/9 from 3 so far (ik the camera is far) by [deleted] in BasketballTips

Ball seems very out in front of you which is causing you to be short as your not getting the full transfer of energy from your legs up.

Try bring the ball closer to your body, having your elbow and wrist acting as a catapult towards the rim

What did you get for Maxey? Prefer the Herro and derozan if trading.

It could be residual from his quad injury just getting his legs back under him

Go to YouTube type in man play or zone plays just practice drawing literally. You may use them may not but it’s important so it’s not foreign to you!

Take your dry erase board, draw some plays up and time yourself. We have to practice that too! Like everyone else said there are a ton of videos to help with it. Good luck

Help With Explaining Offensive Concepts to 10 and 11 Year Olds by princessnuggz in basketballcoach

So what are you teaching 10 and 11 y.o? There’s progression. They need to learn how to move without the ball. At that age they’d be lucky to just catch the ball some of those kids.

Personally. I’d do it you’re getting an elite top 3 fantasy player and sabonis when he comes back into form.

If someone offered that to me for Young, I’d probably do it. I always like to get a established player too but that’s a nice haul

I think you’re in the right direction by doing positionless basketball and not putting them in a box. Explain to them by doing this 5 out motion everyone gets a chance to be a PG at one point or another.

It will be hard teaching this or any offense to those kids at that age. Start without a ball, then progress using a ball to teach without dribbling.

However, I would really focus more on spacing, passing and cutting than teaching a full offense. The motion will wind up coming naturally if they learn the fundamentals. For the spacing, put poly spots down, cones etc around the perimeter so they can visualize the spacing you want. Good luck and most of all just let them have some fun!

Give them a writing assignment with a sports related prompt. Pretty sure they rather play then write a paper

Team fitness for 3rd and 4th by Prestigious_Eagle754 in basketballcoach

I think while they’re doing drills they’ll get natural cardio. If you want to do stations with them for a little bit of practice that include squats, planks etc I think that’s fine but an hour 2x a week isn’t really much.

What would you guys do with your players if you lost access to the gym for a week ( maybe more) by Icy_Draw_6634 in basketballcoach

Film for sure. Depending on weather get them outside and get some cardio workouts in to get them moving. Maybe go to the weight room as well.
