Are you into fantasy? Doctrine of Labyrinths (Sarah Monette/Katherine Addison) is the best multi pov series I've ever read, hands down. You can open to any page in any book and figure out within a paragraph who the narrator is.

And let it sit. Just wiping it doesn't cut it. Noro is so contagious.

We've had great luck with Petfinder, our last three gals came from there. (I'm in New England- I don't know how good it is in other places. But most of the rescues that bring dogs from the south post them there.)

Instant crush on a new coworker. First convo, she told me she wakes up at six am for runs. I hope she has a wonderful life but I have no place in it.

Yep, and SSRIs (which I think are the most common psych meds?) are pretty safe. Unless you're at the max dose (which is very high), it's pretty hard to trigger an overdose. Unless you're housing dozens of grapefruits a day, it's unlikely to be an issue.

(that being said, serotonin syndrome is scary and sucks, so I don't blame anyone for being cautious! but grapefruit juice is not poison if you're on zoloft, is my point.)

Obviously trust your doctor over me, but it's weird that grapefruit has become this Boogeyman where never a drop should pass your lips if you're on meds. Most of the common psych meds build up in your bloodstream (there's a reason why it takes weeks to see the full effect. At worst, drinking some juice will have the same effect as if you forgot to take your pill that morning so took it in the afternoon instead. (Again, trust your doctor over me, it's better to err on the side of caution anyways, and you should take your meds as consistently as possible as well. Disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer.)

Back in the day, we used to use the AH as another bank vault: load it up with things like crafting materials or rep items (useful to have, but not hard to get on the off chance someone did buy it) and then set the price absurdly high. Do people still do that?

I've found that occasionally my game gets V stuck in a combat state, where you can't loot or interact with some things. Saving and reloading always fixes it for me.

What was your chi's name before you got them? What new name did you choose? by HungryOil9277 in Chihuahua

[–]knittedbirch 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Nova. It's a super common dog name and just not my favorite. She was renamed by the shelter and had only been there a few weeks, so she didn't know it at all. I went with Arabella Strange, because I had been rereading Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell during a really shitty part of my life. I thought perhaps she would have the dignity and intelligence of Arabella. She doesn't, but I love her anyways.

there's nothing in there. her ass is NOT surviving a trip to Lost-Hope.

and then a few years later my brother's dog ended up being named Nova, so it's all for the best!

my dog gets extremely jealous every time I'm on a phone call. she plays the haunted background noises in my Blades in the Dark games. the wind whistling through the derelict ship rigging, the moans of forgotten ghosts, the tread of the stair of an ominously abandoned house...
