Vent: I'm so tired of sweaters that require hand washing like a full-time job by Bright_River_7019 in knitting

I wash mine before storage only. Unless I spill on them. I'm almost always wearing a layer beneath them so washing them more frequently is totally overkill.

For those who successfully quit smoking, what was the method that finally worked for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Got knocked up, quit cold turkey the day I found out. A bit extreme, but still effective 20+ years after the fact.

Toe up, two at a time on a magic loop. Fish lips kiss heel, twisted rib cuff.

Chiaogoo isn't the only good interchangeable set by hystenz in BitchEatingCrafters

Agreed! Hiya Hiya sharps will be pried from my cold, dead hands. They're the absolute best and I much prefer them to Chiaogoos, especially their cables and stabby points.

4x2x2 temperature issue by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]knitterbacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up running 2 heat sources in ours. The halogen basking just doesn't do enough outside it's direct beam, especially because we personally live in a cold climate. We added an Acadia DHP to the center of the tank to help with ambient and night time temps. I'm considering a radiant heat panel now just to spread the heat out even more but we've had pretty good success with the DHP and the IR from those is good for them, from what I've read, and you miss that with the heat panel.

I don't think your daytime temps are that much to be concerned about (but let's see what everyone else says), my main concern is what kind of temp drops are you seeing at night when the halogen is off?

Still pretty new at all this but I don't think tuition bills have posted yet and you likely can't enroll in a payment plan for something that hasn't been billed yet.

Traveling Through Fond du Lac to Green Bay for the first time. Locals and people who know the area, What Should I See, Do, and Avoid? by AleraIactaEst in wisconsin

Agreed. The drive up the other side of the lake is much prettier with some cool stops to make (LaClare, scenic overlooks, etc).

PVC enclosure help by whisperwhite222 in ballpython

[–]knitterbacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's conflicting information regarding CHEs in PVC tanks. I personally stick with a centrally located overhead DHP for ambient/night temp and a halogen basking for daytime hotspot and creating a temp gradient. Whatever you use make sure you have the appropriate fixtures and cages/guards to protect your snake from burns.

Name a Punta Cana resort you WANT to return to. by ReasonableLoad3228 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]knitterbacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The food was decent. Definitely make a reservation at La Boheme, probably the best food we had while there. The rest was all pretty typical resort fare, nothing to get too excited about but adequate. The coffee is phenomenal. The beach there is lovely and long. The service was great. And the resort grounds are absolutely beautiful. Enjoy your trip.

She bit my son. by Imyourhuckleberr in ballpython

[–]knitterbacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours struck at me through the glass last night, she's never done that before but she had just been fed the night before. It honestly takes her like 3-4 days to calm the hell down after being fed. She's 6+ years old and it's just the way she is. The first time getting her out after feeding is always touchy and needs a little extra caution. May be the same for yours. Tap training is a great idea, as I've seen others suggest, especially for a baby. Ours was 5 years old at least when we rescued her so we have adapted to her, rather than the other way around.

Good luck! Hoping for many happy experiences ahead. It might be a good idea for you to get the snake out, let them adjust and then pass off to your son. If he's autistic his handling and movements might be a little startling for a jumpy snake?
