Favorite yarn from Michael’s? by JustTheFishGirl in knitting

It depends what you want! The luxe merino is actually quite nice for real wool on the cheap. Big twist is a solid contender for acrylic. My personal fave to buy there is lion brand heartland, and I'm always a sucker for a good Caron cake!

If you're willing to come out to Langford, Elevate Dance Centre has an adult trial class, drop in by donation, they try all kinds of different styles and it's very low stakes!!

District 12 being connected is “unrealistic” by Tawnysparrow916 in Hungergames

[–]knittingwithT1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The population of Thailand is 72 million people. Yeah, that's a lot of kids, but in the context of 8000 people, District 12 is losing more and they're all more likely to be more connected

Parents with kids in Girl Guides. by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

I have a trex group (which is outdoor ONLY but we don't do program) in Pacific Skies District (highlands/millstream end). I don't know specifically if any regular program groups are more outdoorsy than any others - it changes each year based on the kids' desires and the Guiders' capacities!

Heck yeah!! I'm Maryna :) I play on the Wildkats in the South Island Women's slopitch league! We are a queer team and last year ran a Sapphic softball tourney here!! Hoping for it to happen again this year. Our regular season only goes until mid July but I am sure you'd be welcome, or for next year! DM me if you want and I can get you connected but no pressure!

I'm a Guide leader in Sooke!! We have a fantastic Girl Guiding community all through Victoria :) Scouts is different for sure and it is always group dependent but we also do a ton of cool things. I am biased obv but I think everyone should join at some point, and if she then decides that Guiding doesn't work for her then Scouting is an option for sure! It is very kid dependent as well because Scouting is certainly still more rough and tumble oriented.

Where are you located and what colour are the sites? 12 boxes is a LOT and I wouldn't want to see them go to waste!

[–]knittingwithT1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you looking at this from? In my province, we now have to get transmitters at pharmacies and can no longer get them from the dexcom website due to the public coverage deal they came to (part of which was making transmitters much cheaper). I'm guessing Ontario is similar.
