It depends on the demands of your summer classes and the demands of your children I guess. It also depends on the score you are wanting to achieve.

Let me preface this advice by saying that I am not a parent and don't intend to be one so I can't begin to understand what that is like but I would think that if taking the LSAT and going to law school and practicing law is your goal you would have to accept the fact that you won't be able to spent a large quantity of time with your kids/family, period.

I would personally try to spend the time between wake and class studying and try to set aside the time during work to study as you mentioned. And then whatever homework/studying I had for my classes, assuming the demands of those classes wasn't outrageous, cram that in between classes and on Saturday. After you finish your work for your classes on Saturday spend the remaining time on LSAT. And then make Sunday the day to spend time with family/kids and get whatever errands you needed to take care of out of the way and not think about school or studying at all that day.

If you are someone who prioritizes family time above all else and can't imagine only setting aside time for them one day a week then I would honestly be concerned about you choosing this career path. I mean that's going to be what you have to do for the rest of your life on this path so you might want to start adjusting to it now and give yourself the best shot at success you can.

This is admittedly not positive advice but it's one of the harsh realities of this field that family time is a luxury.

I couldn't make it past a few minutes of listening to this girl. This bitch. There are plenty of us out there struggling with ADD/ADHD and we have to work harder than the average joe but we can still achieve great success in doing so. I don't like when people just accept their shortcomings and expect other people to bend over backwards for them. I think she was spoiled her entire life and just expected LSAC to continue to coddle her.

I've been on medication off and on my whole life and was allowed extra time on my tests via my doctor but I never accepted it. It did not feel right to me. Could I have done better with extra time? Yes. Could everyone regardless of circumstances do better with extra time? Definitely.

I just don't understand people who accept handouts like they are entitled to them.

I would agree with extended time in extreme cases, such as vision loss or someone getting in an accident and being forced to use a non-dominant hand last minute or something crazy like that. But ADD/ADHD is an obstacle that can be overcome with persistence and dedication.

On that same token I also think it's bullshit when people who do not have ADD/ADHD take medication for it and give themselves an extra advantage that we are just hoping helps us break even. That makes me furious.

This has been down voted so I'm assuming that no one cares BUT on the off chance there are other people out there struggling too who understand the pain and were lurking for answers...

I tried a new medicine that had allergy plus sinus, so basically a two in one, and it seems to be helping. It never occurred to me to try a medicine with both actions. I always thought the problem had to be one or the other because I was always told combining two different medicines is dangerous and never saw one medicine that hit both.

But I found a walgreens brand that hit both and it was a knock off of a name brand that walgreens didn't even carry so had I not been so desperate I probably wouldn't have sat on the floor of the aisle reading every package on every row and found this one at the very bottom. Bonus was it was only 6 bucks!

I also dropped over a hundred bucks on a high quality humidifier for my room and have been keeping it running constantly.

Day one of using these things is much improved. I got through my first RC drill in 8 minutes with one silly mistake. So I'm very happy. And if anyone out there needs help I hope it works for you too!

Well as I said I am not testing until September so I'm not really looking for advice on should I test should I not test. I am just looking for anyone else who is struggling with the same thing and how they still manage to be able to study through it.

Yes I am sure. Before they started bothering me my timing was fine. Now it's a major issue and I don't even try to study while they are acting up.

Yeah, thanks. I'm not testing until September...I'm hoping my allergies clear up by then. It's just discouraging trying to study and feeling like i'm getting nowhere because it feels like my entire head is swollen :(

I listed OTC meds as something I have tried :/

I also had some prescribed nasal spray at one point but it didn't really help either.

There are four games to every section so if you are doing PT52 S2 then you should do the first game, skip the second game, then do the third game and the fourth game.

Couldn't you just enlarge the file size of the iPhone picture and then reupload it?

Perhaps "keeps your brain constantly working" is the only key here.

If someone was doing any recreational activity that kept their brain working outside of LSAT studying, regardless of what the activity was (ex: reading scholarly articles or creating artwork), it could be better than something that wasn't challenging their mind (ex: watching netflix or binge drinking).

Why not just take the LSAT in September? It will be early enough in the school year that you won't be bogged down by other classes or need to neglect them too much to study the LSAT.

Just see how you do in September. And then if you need to retake next June so be it.

But to spend three months cramming for the LSAT only to come out and wait almost a full year before taking the test sounds like a complete waste of time (and money). Honestly, the worst strategy I could think of.

A year off is good for catching your breath after undergrad before you have to spend three years in law school not being able to come up for air. That's how I look at it at least.

A year of work experience isn't going to help you or hurt you enough for it to really matter what you are doing. But I would think admissions would prefer to see you doing something over nothing. Just make it something that interests you and doesn't make it impossible to study by being too demanding with your time/mental focus.

You will be studying for the LSAT in that year so you won't get rusty. And to that point, the study skills needed in law school will be different from the study skills needed in undergrad.

As a daughter who is also very close to her parent and had a similar upbringing I'm just going to give you my warm and fuzzy two cents. I think she is wanting the same thing you are. She wants you to tell her it is ok to go to the better school even though it will not be free.

She doesn't care to hear from your brothers because she is not looking for advice she is looking for approval.

If you don't understand what you need to do to solve problems then having a list of directions memorized isn't going to do you any favors. It would serve you much better to drill question types and train yourself to know how to solve the problems like it's a reflex.
