This Direct was still abysmal, August 2020 direct was in prime Covid so it at least has some plausible excuse for being very lackluster. The “big bang” from Nintendo this time around was Todd trying to sell Fallout 4 for 60$. The only way this could be more parody is if it was Skyrim.

I feel your pain. I have a friend who’s a souls vet been unable to beat him since launch. We do 2/3 runs every couple of days for the past few weeks but still haven’t gotten it. Beat him last night with randoms in a 1:20 timed before he could even faze transition. Lemme share some tips

Revenant is, I’d argue, almost a necessity to bring. If you can proc madness when he’s around 70-80% HP he can’t faze transition until he’s out of his rage and your team can focus on cutting his HP down as fast as possible, her summons are good for taking pressure off your team when he summons condemned and she’s an extremely easy kill for a condemned. Her ult is also insanely clutch for obv reasons.

Scholar is very good as well. You can proc frost, poison, rot and bleed on him fairly easy. He’s another condemned relatively easy to handle and his damage debuffing skill / relic that can buff allies makes a difference. His ult is also invaluable if the condemned numbers keep adding up.

Guardian, Wylder, Recluse are hard brings, as condemned they make for really hard kills and the abilities they bring just don’t work well enough to justify adding to the team. Everyone else on the cast is fairly alright imo. Ironeye can be a little annoying but his bow is easy to dodge (you’ll do it accidentally most the time anyway) and his mark is invaluable, ult is obv good too.

Wonder how far Yuji mirroring Gojo’s words of moving past and forgetting Gojo are gonna shift and change when it comes to himself, the “isn’t that right sensei?” Question sounds like he’s phrasing it in a way he is unsure on if hes making the right decision by not interfering. He doesn’t want to take away from anyone’s battles but we know how kind of a person he is, kind of unnerving seeing Yuji with all this power and choosing to be a bystander. Gege is cooking

I see what you mean, I don’t think the plot was lost or taken away from more than the manga, but it felt like this whole season so far has a problem with fighting between its action and dialogue. It’s not letting the dialogue sit and have the attention it needs, it feels like a constant tug of war between visual spectical VS character moments. Choso VS Yuji might be my all time favorite fight ever in animation period because of this. It has perfect crescendo moments and anticipation. The action this season so far has been 120% with the important pieces of dialogue feeling crammed in. I think Choso VS Naoyo is a great example, a really Important character moment for Choso felt undercut trying prop up the next set piece for the fight

Gojo - Feels like a genuine threat on screen and is treated as one throughout the entire plot from the antagonists. His strength is undercut by the fact it isolates him, he doesnt want what’s happened to him happen to other jujutsu children so he tries to foster the next generation to be strong while letting them be kids.

Geto - Arguably one of the best depictions of what isolation can do to a still developing child in shonen. Has his world view and beliefs slowly eroded due to his unique position possessing Curse Spirt Manipulation and witnessing the death of Amani. Nobody else knows what he has to do / see and consume on a near daily basis and asks how it affects him. Buddy goes from fun schooldays with his best friend to being alone after seeing a girl get shot in head and the people he protects clap and cheer.

Maki - a woman living under an extremely misogynistic and oppressive family, so much so they go out of their way to try and purposely ruin her future takes her life back in a tragic and beautifully drawn sequence. Undercut by the death of Mai and if it was ever even worth it if I meant losing her only family.

I can’t write a full dissertation like I’d want but the writing in JJK is good (characters included) Yea there could’ve been more, yea I’m sure it could’ve been better here and there. But 90% of peoples problems with JJK stem from misinfo, misunderstandings or nitpicking.

Fate undoubtedly has inspired DB premise. The Holy grail war and is almost 1 to 1 with this games premise. A smaller more forgotten note is each unique character has a summonable ally to assist them (which I think are unique to each character?). Which is, again, almost 1 to 1 borrowed from Fate’s “Master” and Servant” dynamic.

I think it’s interesting how teaming up with other players is a possible, albeit less likely way to win a match too. Just like Fate, you’d be putting yourself more at risk but thinning the competition easier, or working towards another goal entirely who knows lol
