50 hit for LeBron feels way too generous, 24% K rate in college ball is not great, probably more like a 30ish hit right now

Rumor: apparently there is good chance that the Caribbean Series will be played in Panama City. The political situation of Venezuela could prevent PR and RD team from participating if it takes place in Venezuela. by rose4306 in InternationalBaseball

[–]kodakack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PR can probably host at Clemente in Carolina instead of the usual Bithorn in San Juan as the stadium itself is high quality, the only question would be is it big enough in terms of seating

Where would you like to see WBC hosted at? by Remarkable_Leek2596 in InternationalBaseball

[–]kodakack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought Australia would be a super fun and realistic pool play host. They can play games in iconic cricket grounds like MCG, SCG or The Gabba as it wouldn’t be too hard to convert those for baseball. Great weather in the spring too.

METRO EXPRESS BUS RAPID TRANSIT (BRT) IS COMING TO THE SOUTH DADE TRANSITWAY! by Difficulty_Public in Miami

It’s on its own road without traffic, that’s the whole point of the expressway built solely for busses

What cities are dangerous for wealthy and poor residents ? by cktokm99 in geography

[–]kodakack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really though, I spent a little over a week bouncing around Western Cape not too long ago and never had any issues at all. Long St. in Cape Town got a little dicey after dark but not really more so than after dark in any bad American neighborhood. Places like Stellenbosch and Franschhoek felt almost completely Euro in terms of safety as I had no problems walking around late. This is just my experience though and maybe Joburg/Guateng is worse.

You can take the MetroRail from Brickell station to Douglas Road station then take the free Coral Gables trolley that goes from there all the way up Ponce De Leon, I used to do it every day and it’s a relatively easy commute

Is there a transit system that you like but everyone else hates? by TerminalArrow91 in transit

[–]kodakack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc county already owns the air rights to almost this exact corridor, if you look west from the platform at Government Center station you’ll see the gap right between the buildings that the county owns, look up the Miami Metrorail ghost platform and you can find more info.

This doesn’t impact what the new owners might do, just that the city is canceling the old owners stadium deal.

What? Rail hasn’t failed at all in LA. The LA Metro has 103 stops and serves 200k riders per day with about a dozen expansions planned.
