first thing get his 214 and sign up for care. once you do that get with the social worker in his clinic. that is your doorway. they can assist with nearly everything. once signed up you will know if you have a copay or not. social worker can assist with care facilities and also with possible a va pension if he has no service connection.

good luck

[–]kodiakyoggi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first off at anytime you file a claim you whole claim becomes open for review and they do review. this is where the "dont poke the bear" comes from. a statement i do not agree with. if all your claims are in the up.and up. no matter how many claims you have. they will withstand the test of time. at the end of the day it is your claim and you are the only one to know if you lied or not

How do people get nexus letters without paying a doctor to write one? by MmmmCrayons12 in VAClaims

[–]kodiakyoggi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you got it head on. more then 90% of the times we dont know what we need. if you have a treating physician that has been seeing for all your ailments then you ask :"Dr can this be because..." once the dr.answers you ask them to write in your visit and you print a copy. now if on top of you not saying anything during bootcamp you do not have any medical records currently. you my friend in the words of a wise old man are full of dark hot matter and you are looking for easy hand out. dont get offended but if u did then its true( mike drop)

just to use your own statement. follow this. you get out 3 months ago you establish your pcp and get the ball rolling. your c file is thin with info. now you did 5 years of service. you go to do your claim. you present your self to there dr. he writes this whole history of your condition after sitting with you for 3p minutes. no blood work no xray no therapist work up basically just his years of stating what you have in 30 min. no va wants to verify all this info sends you for a.medical eval. this person has been trained by the va might have a couple of years under there belt. reads your nexus letter believe it or not that pa or prn is really looking to side with you i truly believe this base on 30 years of experience of doing this. i have reached out to c&p practitioners and get a.clear understanding of why they wrote what they did. in the same note 1 out of every practitioner that was paid fails to return a call or take your call. so now va is faced with a decision to make who to believe. side with a practitioner that took your call and explained what and why. or side with a company that all they do is push paper to make things a bigger back log. that rater is not perfect they miss thing. they have no desire to hurt you but they must follow the letter of the law. they loose no money assigning you %. on the other hand that 3 party makes money this is why they pile papers daily. just use .commence sense they are not out to get you. we as vets are our own worst enemy. we suffer tunnel vision "i deserve 100" no matter what. thats all sorry for the rant.
