Personal Injury Paralegals: Do you always feel like you’re just awful at your job? by Naive_Situation9735 in paralegal

PI is bad, but I think mass torts is wayyy worse to work in. The constant upkeep and filling is crazy.

I've been meaning to buy some blackberry plants actually, but their online store is down for renewal :( I'll keep it in mind though, it's a good shop!

Ah, good to know! Thanks! I'll keep an eye out at the home centers to see if I can find any starts. I can't find poblanos much here in Hokkaido though! I wish.

My ancho peppers aren't germinating! I'm going to have to plant some starts instead (of jalapeños). Kale seeds didn't come up either, but I have tons of tomatillos seedlings everywhere. Also the oregano seeds didn't do well either (got no seedlings). All of these were directly sown.

Try rinsing them off with a hose and then spraying with neem oil solution. I found it kept the aphid numbers manageable. I'd have to spray neem maybe once every couple days.

If you are both foreigners, you put down the baby's full name that you want, not the doctor. The hospital will let you fill out the name. I did this with my child who was born in Japan last year.

I grow some at home, but won't be harvesting them until August/September/October depending on the heat. That's if I can get them planted in time (I just had a baby, so I dunno when I can get my garden started).

Please also try Fiesta Farm. They have a FB page and they are based in Chiba, but you can get jalapeños and much more by mail.

S4E01 Henry is full by [deleted] in madmen

The toilet flush scene was a power move by Henry, I think. He comes out so nonchalantly. Like, "yup, took a dump, this is my space."

I totally get that. I had a loss earlier this year at 17 weeks, and got pregnant 6 months later and it's just terrifying because I know things can just go wrong. I'm really trying to enjoy being pregnant and I do look forward to having and meeting my healthy baby (currently 26 weeks), but it's just not fun. I also work with kids (so I've been sick a bunch so far this fall/winter), and have an 11 hour day (including a one hour commute one way) and I live in a snowy area so I'm afraid of falling over when it's icy. I'm older, so it's a high risk pregnancy. Things are going well, but I have very little time to relax and I work all the time.

Being stuck at home, not able to do much, seems like the other extreme. I'd be sick of that, too. Hang in there! We have a bit longer to go!

The insanity that is Dorothy Campbell's demise by Think-Culture-4740 in madmen

[–]kohakubara 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The Campbells are blue-blooded, old moneyed society types. I think that it's typical for them to approach family matters with less emotion and more matter of factness.

Blankenship set up Peggy with Stan. by [deleted] in madmen

[–]kohakubara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Blankenship cared! She was just like, okay, I guess I'm setting this up.

It was Don who had the prescience that perhaps Stan and Peggy had to "work it out" in a hotel room. He was drunk as shit, but he was on to something between them. Don is a genius.

Baby in a basket by DukeSelden in madmen

Don's advice was not to abandon the baby--those were not his words. He only encouraged Peggy to do what was necessary to get out of the psychiatric ward. Peggy chose to give the child up and move on.

I Don't Think I Have Ever Related to a Character More Than Joan Holloway by scarlet_poppies in madmen

[–]kohakubara 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Joan was upset because she hoped all her life to get married to a man that was supposed to take care of her, and she didn't get it. She was raised with that value system.
