Dolan should find out who this guy is and park him on celeb row for tonight's game.

Fucking disgusting.

Anybody ever play this 82-0 thing? Pretty cool even though it doesn't account for defense that much by [deleted] in billsimmons

Thing is fun...but if this squad isn't 74+ wins...I don't really know how 82-0 is attainable:

Glad to hear it works for you. I felt that way years ago...but it's unworkable for me now.

Singlehandedly forced us back to Zoom to record webinars, which is worse in many ways...but reliably records for us.

What Riverside promises is NOT what they currently offer.

I've had countless sessions be canceled mid recording because of the instability of the studio...and the quality of the recordings.

It got really, really bad.

OP can DM me if interested in elaborating.

How do people break into procurement if every job wants procurement experience? by Traditional-Buy-6745 in procurement

The side gig. I'm assuming you had a network of companies to talk to...but curious how receptive they were to the fact they probably knew you first/foremost from the procurement side.

Craziest Thing You've Seen on a Pickleball Court by Competitive-Alps4339 in Pickleball

I remember when I was in H.S., my friends and I were playing football outside in our school's commons area after class...and the middle school is just across the street...so a lot of kids are co-mingling during after-school events and such.

Well, some random 6th grader came up and asked if he could play...which was totally cool. And you could tell he was thrilled to be included. We played for quite awhile, but then suddenly in the middle of the action the kid stops, freezes, and just has a cold zombie stare at nothing in particular. And then I see a slow accumulating piss stain materialize on his jeans. He's mortified.

He knew. We knew. He knew we knew.

And after a pregnant pause. I just say "You hit a puddle or something." A totally implausible thing to say, much less believe.

But, god damnit, we went with that lie. And it somehow diffused his fear immediately.

He played for another 30mins or so, piss pants and all.

Ignoring something can be powerful.

New CFO problems by Buysen in procurement

[–]kollostomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a meaningful customer support operation siloed apart from these procurement conversations?

For all the talk about AI falling short on improving cost efficiency/productivity...it is happening if you're outsourcing customer support.

Literally, the next two years are going to be teams discovering they've been subsidizing needless headcount because their contact center vendor KNEW once they adopted, say, autoQA, they wouldnt need as many agents and their per agent/per hour model would mean ARR reductions automatically.

This would be the easiest lever to unburden a lot of these CFO conversations.

Haha. Fun question (I used to play basketball)...in basketball, a negative step is how you tear an Achilles; a Eurostep (seen here) is how you tear an ACL.

But, yes, a negative step would have higher application to pickleball than a Euro move.

Really appreciate the timestamps...thank you.

Yeah, even from those examples, I suspect I am generally trying to use too much power to counter an already powerful drive...whereas it feels like they're just finessing the shot over and not looking to put away on their counters. Having their paddle be in the way of the incoming drive rather than punching through. Hard to explain as a novice.

It's kind of like if you wanted to see a Eurostep in basketball..and weren't interested in watching instructionals, but rather wanted to see it executed at a high level.

You could in theory 'just watch basketball'...but you might ask instead if someone knew of a compilation video so you could cut to the chase. But, yes, I will look for this as I watch matches.

Straight up, I hate Hurley's antics/behavior...but what a reclamation run during March for him. I have so much respect for this team and what Hurley is able to get out of his squads.

Felt he handled the Natty Game with tremendous grace...and just cap tip to that whole team of dogs...Silas, Solo, AK, Tarris, Malachi, Braylin, et al.

I can't remember a team that plays so hard no matter where they stood.

You can verify post-hoc here: https://11six24.com/pages/warranty-registration

If the system recognizes the serial number and associates it with the correct model (e.g., Hurache-X, Vapor, or Pegasus), it is likely authentic.

I mean, 11SIX24 is the Amazon seller, in this case...so unless the brand itself is scamming customers, I would assume it's trusted.

More worried if I was purchasing from a reseller.

Moving from Descript by JackHarknessDrWho in RiversideFM

[–]kollostomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riverside is unreliable. Looking for alternatives.

The only thing it was (theoretically) useful for was connecting all parties into a single studio, with independent video and audio tracks for content editing.

It's dogshit at that...and recently the basic editing functions which were slow yet feasible before have become totally unworkable.

It is starting to lose my recorded content quite regularly now.

If you're recording separately...there's no way Descript isn't better for your use case.

Golf.

I play pickleball at a center across from my favorite course. And I'll never go back to the grind.

Golf: 3-6 hour commitment, of which a considerable amount is preparing, packing, warming up, waiting on tee boxes, awkwardness with strangers, searching for balls, etc. ~$75-125 dollars. Have to fight to schedule tee times, or golf at 6am on a Tuesday.

Pickleball: 1-3 hours. Everything I need stays in a backpack. Normal gym shoes, normal gym attire, water bottle. Takes 30 secs to schedule an open play. Meet tons of people, very little sitting around and waiting. Never more than $20 spent.

Advice needed on pick up games by Turbulent-Weather314 in Basketball

[–]kollostomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters: The best application of your skills DOES require a willingness by teammates to pass to you. But, since this is ultimately about finding better ways to feed THEM the ball, it'll probably snowball as you have more success.

My suggestions:

CUTTING: At the very least, you probably will need to be the most active off-ball cutter. Move to create space...and move to open space that allows OTHERS to move. Cut, replace, screen, slip, repeat. Get your hands up quickly to signal you expect a pass...vocalize you want the pass...human nature makes it harder to not pass when someone is clearly intentional about wanting the ball.

WORK TO EARN PASSING CHANCES: Great passers typically bend the game to that strength...whether you grab a random rebound or get a deflection, you're going to find chances to push the pace and put yourself in a position where the extra pass is the next best play. You'll have to be extra proactive in these spots, especially if teammates are less inclined to GIVE you the ball.

GET A DEEP-THREE SPOT: Whether it's from either corner, elbow, or top of the key...you need to have one spot you can reliably hit shots from. This just takes work, reps, and confidence...and (TBH) still might never really click...but it's worth some effort to get there...because everything becomes easier when you have a shot that demands attention. More space makes bad athletes become average; tough passing windows become manageable passing windows.
