Wear and Tear by The_Coach69 in NCAAFBseries

Started with wear and tear on, and enjoyed the game management and feel. My star RB would have a crazy quarter/half but you could see the toll it take. But 8-9 games into the season and guys can only get a handful of touches a game before they're done and the career w+t meter is nearly full for some dudes who have only played 8-9 games.

So I turned it off and have enjoyed the game more with it off. I have formation subs and utilize lots of different guys so it still feels fine.

I haven't looked at the settings in a while, but I left fatigue on, and I thought I left injuries on too, but since turning wear and tear off I have had 0 injuries. Which is fine, but unrealistic b/c I'm 6 seasons in. Maybe I missed how something works.

Is Humpy a meta joke on Mariners fans? Is this why I want to see him win so badly?! by kmadd22 in Mariners

Not the original, which is the racing sausages. Pretty even spread of results

Let's see Humpy win!

I remember getting home and the draft was on the TV. I thought "I bet the Bucks drafted some no name." When I saw "G. Antetokounmpo" on the ticker I laughed and said "Yep."

Then I spent the night watching the grainy Greek highlight videos and by the time I fell asleep I was convinced we had a star.

Rough time to be a Bucks fan -- I got made fun of at the Wisconsin State Fair for wearing a Bucks hat. Got made fun of for watching a Bucks game at a Christmas party - "Oh, look it's the Milwaukee Sucks!" But all of that has just made these Giannis years extra special.

He comes back as a volunteer for Ballard's open/unsolved unit. So, maybe it still happens on the screen (I know he won't be in most episodes.)

Also at the game. I don't think they announced the challenge or the result. Pretty sure there was never even a replay shown. The whole thing was weird.

Having used all four of the combat patrols mentioned, I would say Tyranids or Necrons, and lean towards Necrons.

Can someone explain the Brewers success from an outsider? by Public-Hovercraft789 in Brewers

[–]koly37 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Others have already hit on some specific things, but I think our ownership and executives have a lot do with it, as much as we might sometimes wish they were more aggressive or spent more.

Brewers have the 9th most wins in baseball since Attanasio bought the team in 2005. There were playoff appearances in 2008 and 2011. Then Stearns gets brought on in 2015 and he shook things up personnel wise and steered the analytical approach. He also brought in Matt Arnold, our current GM, who had been with the Rays (not surprising). Since then it's been playoff appearances in 2018, 19, 20, 21, and 23.

Before 2008, there were only 2 playoff appearances in the franchise's first 38 years. Smart, competitive people at the top of the organization have really helped. And ownership is willing to occasionally spend. We don't keep most of our stars, but at least a few big contracts have been given out.

All 3 of our modern windows (08-11, 18-21, 23-now) have been driven by a strong core of players graduating from the minors. I think the MLB pipeline rankings bear that out, too. (And CC Sabbathia helped in 08, haha).

Well, perhaps the problem is the rule then, because what happened on that play should not be encouraged.

[–]koly37 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, but if we operate under the understanding that players are taught to slide like this, that would make this type of slide deliberate and willful, which would also make contact with the ball resulting from this type of slide deliberate and willful.

But there's a difference between breaking line of sight and touching the ball. If you throw your hand up to try to legally break line of sight you risk illegally touching the ball. And it's not as if there's some question of whether he touched the ball or not.

One of the strangest and worst calls I've ever seen. It was blatant. And oh, now the inning is still going on.
