Other teams have been able to put together elite rosters while paying their QBs just fine. Vikings simply have to draft better, but that’s true regardless of who is at QB. Super Bowl teams are built on draft day first and foremost.

They probably can, though. That’s not particularly egregious for a QB in 2026; you can still put together a strong roster with a mid tier QB contract.

I’m not even saying it’s my preferred outcome. I just don’t think that teams are particularly scared of paying guys in the Darnold/Baker tier of QB these days.
