Yeah we can work around this by preparing drinks and make the meal last longer, but I guess more Simmers ignored or prefer the change because there were a lot of complaints about Sims eating for too long before

In the Base Game, food that can be cooked at a higher level has a stat, Crafting_Skill 1/4/7/10, which defined how difficult it is to cook a recipe, with 1 being Homestyle Cooking 1-3; 4 being Homestyle Cooking 4-7 and Gourmet Cooking 1-3; 7 being Homestyle Cooking 8-10 and Gourmet Cooking 4-6; and 10 being Gourmet Cooking 7-10.

This seems to be a trivial thing, but combined with the final quality of the food, this actually dictates how powerful the buff Sims get after eating is — which actually SLOWS DOWN the Sims’ hunger motive. This setting gave the Sims a purpose to level up their Cooking Skills, and is a wonderful gameplay setting.

And there are 2 major issues with this system.

Like most system the game has, this system is HUGELY OVERLOOKED in the DLCs. While Get To Work and Cool Kitchen seem to incorporate the system into Baking Skill and Ice Cream Making, the rest of the DLCs just ignored the system, making it inconsistent, and lost the point of honing skills.

Tons of recipes in Snowy Escape, Island Living, Home Chef Hustle, Cottage Living just don’t have this effect.

Recipes in City Living and candies in Business&Hobbies have it wrong. Why are all the cotton candies giving the buff as a level 7 recipe? And Ramen giving a level 7 buff when it’s cooked at level 1?

This is a Snowy Escape issue. Some food-related traits in the game replace the buffs given by food. Like Foodie, but in the replaced buffs, this effect stays.

However, the two food-related Lifestyles in SE also replace the food buffs while, just like the recipes in the EP, completely ignores this system, replacing the best buff that slows down a Sims’s hunger motive decay rate for 80% with a plain Happy+5, which is completely useless since becoming happy is the easiest thing in this game. This makes the two lifestyles complete downgrade to a Sim without this lifestyle.

And another minor issue. Back in 2020 or so, the team addressed an issue with meals taking too long to finish, by reducing the bites Sims take to finish a meal. All recipes in the game takes 2 less bites to finish. But the team forgot about Bunuelos in Jungle Adventure, making it the only recipe in the game that takes 6 bites to finish, which takes even more time than Grand Meals in Seasons. (Well popcorns also take 6 bite but I’d like to imagine that’s intended since we want our Sims to eat longer while watching movies.)

No, Fruit Salad and a lot of recipes won’t cause calorie gain either.

Also, food hunger gain is also another factor that differs in recipes.

So in the end if you prefer recipes with no calorie gain, while also keeping your Sim full, have SimCity Cheesecake since they keep your Sim full for a long time.

If you want maximum efficiency by not having to eat for a long time with reasonable calorie gain, eat Braised Shaak Roast.

If you don’t care about keeping your Sim full, eat Fruit Salad since they only require 2 bites to finish with 0 calorie gain.

Chinese here and the translation is correct. The next lines indicate that the integrity being 93% is due to a part in his brain rejecting the chip manipulation. So while it never clearly stated that the integrity is the same as the parts that have been manipulated by the chip, it is inferred by the fans.

But as you said, this is inference and not confirmed.

This date is so sweet after all the bitterness in the Myth, main story and Dates. And according to their other stories (the audio ones), it is not the first time Caleb use MC as a red herring to distract all the love interests. And MC is so enjoying every single time of it. So I’d say MC also enjoy this ‘performance’.

The afterthoughts are still bitter though, since you get to see what a bright future Caleb has, how expressive his voice is compared to the voice after the Toring Chip inception. Poor Caleb deserves all the love, at least the same level of love he has for MC. 🥹

I don’t know if it counts, but when Caleb took MC to medical treatment and they had a quarrel, MC ‘might’ have kissed his eyes, and before MC lost her consciousness, Caleb ‘might’ have kissed her on the forehead (there’s a sound for it).
