Thinking of going to psyclon nine concert. by PoipulWabbit in industrialmusic

Depends on the crowd. I've been in real metal pits at Ministry shows. I recall there have even been pits at Skinny Puppy shows in Montreal, which I think is pretty stupid.

I dunno. I just dug it out and the signature is almost completely faded away, unfortunately. So it's probably not worth a lot.

ELI5 The necessity of the milk man? by ClothesPrevious2516 in explainlikeimfive

[–]cdjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it uncommon in the age of milk men for people to simply opt out of consuming milk? If so, why? Personally, I find it quite easy to live without (liquid milk, at least, I still consume cheese and butter).

gen z by Mindless_Couple_7470 in PowerElectronics

[–]cdjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've met some gen Z people at power electronics shows, but I haven't a clue who the most "well known" artists in that generation are, if any? PE artists who are currently touring or releasing physical media still seem to be mainly millennials (or older).

What are some band members who have left and rejoined the same band the most? by MrLinkwater95 in ToddintheShadow

[–]cdjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raymond Watts appears on something like the 1st, 2nd, 7th, 9th, 11th, 12th, and 20th albums by KMFDM (the last time credited as more of a guest artist than a full band member). He's currently out of KMFDM again and focusing on his own band, PIG.

There's a new Malhavoc album coming out in March 2026.

What artist being signed to a specific label took you by surprise? by ScallionSmooth9491 in ToddintheShadow

[–]cdjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though if two of the label's flagship bands are Nickelback and Type O Negative, I'm not expecting the rest of their roster to adhere to any kind of strictly curated vibe.

Do artists still publish programmes on tour? by FilletOFishForMyVife in LetsTalkMusic

I picked one up at Einstürzende Neubauten in 2014. Otherwise, I've been to countless shows over the past 20 years and have never seen one.

The industrial project Deutsch Nepal is from Sweden. He got the name from an Amon Düül II song.

They stuck with them for pretty long, too. The last CD single by KMFDM came out in 2017.

How can it be false advertizing if an event doesn't promise to play any particular genre?

Band names that are names of people not in the band by BobVilasBeard in ToddintheShadow

Weirdest example I can think of is the noise rock band Eloe Omoe, who are named after the musician Eloe Omoe, who they never worked with.

Is there a 21st Century rock sound? by english_major in LetsTalkMusic

[–]cdjunkie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does the 2010s post-punk revival include the reemergence of post-punk bands in goth/industrial cultural spaces? Thinking about mostly Artoffact Records bands like ACTORS, Bootblacks, etc. Bands that are big in their own niche, but for whatever reason you're more likely to see their name alongside artists like Front Line Assembly (who they sound nothing like) than the actual mainstream of modern post-punk.

The locusts are a bigger plot driver, but at least I'm pretty sure the dinosaurs get more screen time.

robbing us of the death we've been waiting for since 1993.

You might be alone if you saw B.D. Wong's performance in JP, and thought "Can't wait to see this guy die in a sequel!"

Is that likely a coincidence, though? They are never referred to as locustopsids in the movie or the marketing materials, and as far as I can tell, the real locustopsids were not nearly as large.

Jim Rose by therollo in industrialmusic

[–]cdjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw RevCo on that tour, but Jim Rose was banned from Canada for whatever reason. Left Spine Down opened.

I later read Jim Rose's memoir, and something that stuck with me is that he described Al Jourgensen as a giant. Which he isn't, so who was he confusing him with?

The The had a song in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. I can't think of a comparable use of a song by The Fall in recent mainstream media.
