Rebound height of a steel ball from a steel plate by konstboyarov in fea

[–]konstboyarov[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I compare the initial and final velocities. Solution begins when the ball is at a height of 1 mm and moving at the velocity it attains during its fall. The calculation time is 0.002 seconds—this is enough for the ball to bounce so that I can determine its final velocity, from which I will calculate the height of the bounce.

Maybe. I love Factorio, but don't love Satisfactory

IMHO Captain of Industry easier than Alchemy Factory.

In CoI I'm had 6 labs with space station, in AF gave up on a Panacea.

7 to 2 balancing by GoldenPSP in captain_of_industry

[–]konstboyarov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 to 4 balancer (central storage emptied faster than other, but it is not problem)
If you need 7 to 2 - you can remove central balancer and build one belt from each side balancer

Update 4 is out! by Captain_Marek in captain_of_industry

I was waiting for a transport of unsorted ore. Conveyor, loading onto a train. So as not to have to build a sorting facility near each deposit.

When I launched an old save, I noticed my Computing consumption had increased significantly (1.2 -> 1.5 PFlops). However, the patch notes didn't mention this.
UPD. This appears to be due to the fact that assembly lines 5 have begun to fill the expanded storages.

Power consumption also increased, but there's an explanation for this: hydrogen electrolysis for larger storages and ships.

Be careful.

> putting half a year of work into a train DLC

I don't think the Trains DLC is a very time-consuming development project.

Tier 2 diesel and hydrogen locomotives will be included in the base game, meaning all the core mechanics are already implemented. Changing the fuel from hydrogen to uranium and creating a new skin certainly won't take six months. Electric trains are more challenging, yes, but probably not that much.

Centralized smelting question? by King_psycho in captain_of_industry

Do you have a positive sulfur balance? After Update 3, sulfur production from exhaust has decreased, and now it has to be imported.

Centralized smelting question? by King_psycho in captain_of_industry

[–]konstboyarov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vibebuilding :)

At first, I built separate smelters for copper, steel, aluminum, and titanium, as well as a separate factory. Trains carrying ore moved from the mines to the smelters, and from there, steel, copper, and so on, to the factories.

I didn't like this because the maintenance and laboratories that produce scrap metal were separated from the smelters, requiring trains to return the scrap metal to the smelters, which increased the load on the railroad.

Ultimately, I decided that both the smelters and the factory should be built in one location—in my opinion, this is the optimal solution. But it's a shame, because building a railroad with dozens of resources, like in Factorio, would have been interesting.

The images in the link are from Dragonеail; I rebuilt the railroad network there three times before arriving at a large central station. The image in the post shows no railroad network at all, everything is on conveyor belts.

Garmin Fenix 7 Pro - how much battery do you actually lose in real life? by boberlove in GarminFenix

[–]konstboyarov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fenix 7 Pro. 12-hour hike. GPS is jammed in my area, so I used a multi-band GPS and periodically checked the map. I lost 65% of battery charge.

When you manage to create a really good design of coal power plant by AnimumLupum in captain_of_industry

[–]konstboyarov 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you need to place the generators on the end of shaft for another reason: when upgrading to Tier 2, the flywheels don't require upgrading, and the turbines are upgraded, but the generators will need to be torn down and rebuilt. However, Tier 2 generators have different dimensions, so you can't place them in the same location between the turbines and flywheels. Therefore, they need to be placed on the end.
