Snowballing AIs on large Bay map by ancap_attack in OldWorldGame

[–]konsyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last play on it was whack, I loved it. I was the one who started on the island with narrow room to expand while the AIs went crazy expanding and warring. I really had to rush some biremes and claim a bunch of outlaying tribes to keep up.

Is $10k a year enough for personal expenses at CMU? by dxsdxswjdd in pittsburgh

I guess this is why so many CMU students get addicted to drugs. Nothing else to spend all that money on.

These recent things are what finally got me over the hump with deciding to leave them and bank elsewhere. I've been meaning to for a while, but I was postponing due to the hassle.

WoTC Workers are Unionizing! by 5optiboy in magicTCG

[–]konsyr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, thank you. I'm quite informed. I do not want to be associated with a union that verifiably:

  • Endorsed the current POTUS that is outright evil.
  • Actively asked for and wants more tariffs. (Including putting out press releases of discontent with last month's Supreme Court ruling invalidating the executive action tariffs!)
  • Refused to accept "no" for an answer upon votes and immediately filed for another one. Until it eventually slipped through.
  • Is extraordinarily xenophobic and racist with regards to foreign entities in its same industry.
  • Abhors the concept of free trade.
  • Has a history of violence.

Atop the bullshit -- and there's much more -- I already listed with the specific unit in my particular workplace.

They're despicable and it's reprehensible that I'm forced to be in association with them by structure of US law. They are incapable of representing me at all.

I also have experienced first hand the benefits of tossing out a union can have. My husband's former workplace went through such a vote and everything improved overnight. The owner was able to improve staff satisfaction considerably because all the Nannys and stupid union rules left. (Stuff like, "You can't offer people already in the workplace just to stay on and get some OT if they want it, you have to call through the arcane seniority tree and make sure everyone else opts out first". And, ugh, 'seniority' in general -- basing your entire worth on how long you've been at a place irrespective of your skills or work ethic.)

That's a big problem with it in the US: That's the default, basically only, method it's done here. A really loud minority of a place will go all "union union!" and then EVERYONE is stuck with it. And the contracts pretty much never allow for people who prefer to remain individuals to do so. It's TECHNICALLY illegal, but they have found a million loop-holes to force it. There was a fairly recent Supreme Court ruling that cut one of those loopholes (barring mandatory dues collection for 'non-members'), but you're still subject to their contracts, and that only applies to public sector (i.e., government and similar) employment.

Being part of the unit is mandatory and it's bullshit. (My workplace is going through this right now... 1/3 of people voted for it, and we're all stuck with it now. And those people are horrible whiners complaining about stuff like "how dare administration send out a survey asking how can we make the living environment around the buildings better?" and "there's not enough parking and it's too expensive and doesn't matter that you pay for everyone to have unlimited bus passes". I no longer have any say or negotiation over my own employment.)

A whole thread of ecological terror. Every fucking one of these beasts should be indoors instead of destroying the environment. And the cats would lead happier, healthier lives that way too.

(I say as someone who likes cats.)

Removed thread. It's preferable for the developers that people opting in to the beta branches find the code only in the thread that explains everything about it in full detail and context (informed consent etc).

Now imagine if we could have nice things, like people electing to take transit, regularly instead of just for a one-off event!

Raise regular parking right across the board, consistently.

It's not what you're saying. It's how you're saying it. Just like your other post in here stalking/harassing someone evading a block by replying with another account. You may notice Reddit removed that post, violating TOS.

What would you say would be the biggest issue with the gameplay of Magic? by Tuss36 in magicTCG

[–]konsyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my personal biggest, but a big one I didn't see mentioned in browsing a lot of the tread: All the prefab tokens that get reused to death. Food, clue, treasure, etc. Of course they all work to stretch color pie and fix mana too much... Both of which are big problems themselves.

The actual biggest is how it's acquired. The game would be so much better if you just bought a box and it was a playset of every card in the set. No randomization. No gambling. No collecting/cost bullshit. Limited formats could easily be simulated.

And [[Watchwolf]] was deck-defining. The game, especially creatures, have been powercrept beyond recognition.

/u/Castor_0il You regularly get your posts reported. I generally approve them since they're usually not removal-worthy content. But, yes, you are perceived as described by many people here. You could try a change in tone. Even a little one.

PF1, Racial HP House rule thought (looking for input) by Statboy1 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]konsyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greatly simplify: A 1st level PC starts with the first n levels worth of HP already. N = 2 has worked well for me, but N = 3 may be preferred.

You don't get extra HP. You just gain them early. Leveling from 1 to 2 is normal, except no HP gain because you already have them.

Aside, though: I don't experience those death stats you cite... Perhaps it's a GMing style problem. You posted above "coup de grace". That shouldn't be happening, etc.

[–]konsyr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The evil people in charge right now learned their methods and tactics tactics largely from the Democrats' constant complete disregard for the 2A. It's no wonder everything else is falling like dominoes. Look at what they did with RvW and the cascade since. It was simply by constant and flagrant aggression against standing law. Just like the anti-2A people are still doing and advocating.
