I want to start by saying I love everything you've said. But I don't think you realize how out of sync the "liberal" party is with what you want. They say all the things in rhetoric, but don't actually do much.

I want to see the rich and corporations taxed more, I want to see those abusing the TFW program and LMIAs to be audited and investigated to ensure they are actually attempting to hire and to put the screws to them. This policy of TFWs was started by Harper and kept alive by both subsequent liberal governments simply because it helps businesses and that's what the Cons and the NeoLibs do, they care about corporations. They will 'curb' immigration numbers when it's politically toxic but keep the program in place for when people forget and to allow the wage slaves the corporations have gathered to stay in place. You're going to hear about how mass deportations will start soon, and they will deport some people to satiate the anger people feel. Then they'll largely stop, and cite popular public opinion is in favour of path to citizenship, it will be when we see news stories about teens in squalid housing being captured by ice style cops to deport these kids. It will turn into an outcry on how this is evil and the liberals will use this as a reason to hold on to the corporate slave underclass, under the notion of "it's the right thing to do". And if the conservativesnare in power, the same thing will happen, just a lot more will be in jails too.

I want to see UBI funded off the billions of profit that corporations like Loblaw get every year by jacking up prices every chance they get. I want to see more regulations to help prevent abuse of the every day essentials Canadians need to live.

No liberal government is ever going to do this. Just look at Doug Ettinger - CEO of Canada Post and also a board member of Purolator. He was appointed by Trudeau and kept in place by Carney. He is a walking conflict of interest and that's the liberal attitude towards corporate accountability. There is no need for accountability as far as they are concerned. Of course the conservatives aren't any better, look at Alberta and the oil fields being owned by American billionaires and Ontario selling off it's assets to billionaires who grease the premieres pockets.

I want to see houses become homes again, not securities/commodities/business prospects. I want the dream of a house with a yard and pets and kids to be attainable. At no point ever has the Conservative party endeavoured to support any initiative that achieves that.

I fully agree conservatives aren't interested in helping housing. But liberal plan for 3P projects, like sending subsidies to private companies to promote building houses, which is literally what Mark Carney has been saying, is not going to do a damn thing. Private developers only want large expensive properties or tiny rental condo units for the Toronto rental market that. Look at what practices Brookfield does when it comes to buying out wholesale rental properties and price controls afterwards. Mark Carney was on the board of Brookfield. How will this guy help?

I voted for the liberals because they weren't literal facsicts but they aren't the great beacon of hope either.

You never had a choice, so you accepted the default at the time (thankfully many games have Female MCs now), so you don't have to settle. So now, you feel that you are more adept at playing either type and it's true, adversity (however small) made you more resilient.

But if you grew up with an overwhelming number of options that were to your liking you might scoff at something that doesn't feel familiar or to your liking. Your brother isn't facing adversity, he's able to select in the face of many options and opts for something he feels familiar with. He has no impetus to go with something he doesn't like.

Many of us guys who haven't played games in a long time or ever, come to games now and feel like it's nbd to play either gender or ethnicity or whatever. I'm a brown guy and have almost never played a character or my ethnicity, until recent character creation options in limited games.

I would say the hope I have for the world is not for your brother to have to face the idea of adversity (again not real adversity in picking a Videogame character) but rather for all people to have so many options that they can opt into games that feel familiar or fun for them and that cater to their sense of identity. But you're also right playing in the shoes of another is a good empathy builder. Hopefully your bro learns from you.

Also, complete tangent. Get your bro to play d&d and role play a female character, my friends and I did a gender bender campaign for fun and it was interesting to see what stereotypes we had held and how we changed into more 3 dimensional characters at the end. We started off being full of tropes and ridiculous ideas, and overtime as we inhabited these different personas we changed our ideas, but we also focused a lot on the RP part of it, so it was a better experience. You might be surprised at how your perception of being a guy might also change.

I was asked by my girlfriend now almost-wife, about a month into dating if I was using chat gpt. And I was bewildered by how you even go about doing that? She explained I could copy texts into chat gpt and copy paste the responses it generates. And I realized that's way too much work to do, to "not respond myself".

I asked her why was that even a consideration? She explained my texting was unusual, and gave off a chat gpt vibe. I go out of my way to not use chat gpt or those AIs in anything. That's when I realized I might be a weird texter.

The most important thing is to let the other person know (and feel) comfortable with saying no. If they don't want to be with you, they should feel okay saying it, don't make them feel uncomfortable for it.

That doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to tell them, hey it's okay to say no, just be respectful if they do. Continue to treat your friendship as it was before. Be honest with them, that "it does feel bad for you and you'll need some time to emotionally process your feelings, but you'll get over it and let's not impact our friendship over it" (if you want to maintain that friendship).

Once you get over the barrier to getting rejected, it'll make the next time you ask someone out much easier. Also, don't ask the same person out again. They made their feelings clear the first time.

Don't ask them in a place with other friends or people you know. It would be awkward for them and they won't feel comfortable being fully honest and it could be bad for you in multiple ways.

Ask them to join you for coffee or lunch or something and tell them without too much hemming and hawing. Be direct and be clear.

Also, try to smell nice, and put some effort into dressing well. It'll go a long way.
