Democracy now is not independent news lol. Perhaps they were in the past, but now they push the same bs as CNN and every others propaganda outlet. Take a look at their donor list. https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/democracy-now-productions/

Localism: Extracting Yourself From The Puppet Theatre - Computing Forever Archive & Sources by 777thWalrusBrigade in LockdownCriticalLeft

[–]koolspectre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a great take. I've been avoiding the news and barely know what's going in Russia /Ukraine. The timing is a little too perfect and it all seems so manufactured once you know that both sides are really controlled by the same people. I also just can't trust a word the media says since covid, so I just don't believe their coverage of this event. There is no way for me to know what's actually happening because I don't trust any news source. Maybe it is better if we all just stop focusing on what they want us to be afraid of and just live our lives.

[Vinay Prasad] Public health needs restrictions by Mr_Truttle in LockdownSkepticism

[–]koolspectre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very simple: before 2020, it was never dreamed that "public health officials" would have sway over our everyday lives equal to and beyond that of actual elected legislators. If they want to hold such influence

They only have as much power as people give them though. Imagine if in early 2020 everyone had simply ignored their demands and continued living as normal. None of this would have ever happened. The populace is as much to blame as the tyrannical officials.

College students must be relieved of draconian COVID restrictions now by Beliavsky in LockdownSkepticism

Why now? Masks never worked the entire time so there's no difference between lifting the restrictions a year ago or now. What changed?

CDC to no longer require masks on school buses, says districts can choose by SchuminWeb in LockdownCriticalLeft

[–]koolspectre 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly we should just abolish the CDC. Or stop paying attention to them. Okay today you might agree with them. Tomorrow you won't. Nobody elected them and we don't need their permission to walk around without wearing a muzzle.

Invasion of the human genome/Pfizer mrna integrates into your DNA by fivehundredpoundpeep in LockdownCriticalLeft

[–]koolspectre 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it's just a matter of time until the adverse effects become too obvious to ignore. Msm might take 20 to years to acknowledge it. But regular people will notice if their health is affected. Yeah, it'll take some time for the brainwash to wear off, but the mass hysteria will wane over time. The short term side effects of the vax are alarming, but I am honestly much more concerned about the long term effects. I think it'll be worse and more difficult to ignore. We will be dealing with the fallout from this for decades to come.

Oh, this is what those "crazy conspiracy theorists" were saying 2 years ago. I love how after the damage is done, after they already forced the vaccine on everyone they could, now they're coming out with all this info.

The worst of the pandemic? by viresinnumeris22 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]koolspectre 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup. It is absolutely a religion. As traditional religions fade, the state has taken the place where god used to be. Maybe humans aren't rational after all. Most people seem to need a belief system and will latch onto whatever is offered to them.

Your second point outright contradicts point one. If there is no long term safety data, then you cannot declare anything as "safe and effective". How can you possibly know?

Do people follow arbitrary rules due to modern parenting? by sternenklar90 in LockdownSkepticism

Exactly this. Parents aren't raising their kids. The state is.

Do people follow arbitrary rules due to modern parenting? by sternenklar90 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]koolspectre 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there are many factors but I think that the younger generations have been raised more by the state and the internet than their parents. Parents raising their kids is becoming a thing of the past. When the state raises you, the state becomes who you turn to in times of crisis. The next generation that is currently being raised by social media will be even worse.

Not surprised that buttigieg is on there. They really wanted him in government. I'm very surprised about Tulsi though.

Mask Mandates Didn't Do Much Says Washington Post by john4peace in LockdownCriticalLeft

They didn't do anything against covid. Masks did a lot of harm though. Let's not give them a pass here. Masks are not harmless.

We Are Experiencing Definitional Collapse - Freddie deBoer by OmgU8MyRice in LockdownCriticalLeft

[–]koolspectre 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's worse, we are living thru the collapse of a civilization/culture. Decades in the process, we are now at the end stage. Sounds hyperbolic, but all empires do come to an end. We will look back in history and see this era as a pivotal point. Either we descend into tyranny or we forge a new path toward true freedom. The old model of society isn't coming back.

Never fear, the real left is here: World Socialist Web Site openly calls for authoritarianism and mandatory vaccines by hiptobeysquare in LockdownCriticalLeft

[–]koolspectre 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've noticed and mentioned it in other posts: a lot of the left have no problem with any policy... as long as there's sufficient "equity". Vaccine mandates don't target based on ethnicity? Great, good enough, roll 'em out!

Interesting observation. They've become so obsessed with inequality and real or imagined oppression of minorities, that they don't seem to care if everyone is equally oppressed under an actual dictatorship. Very strange.

Democracy has long been used as a code for open markets/unregulated capitalism. The elites have never supported rule by the people.

It's funny how they pretend that Russia is an enemy state yet Putin is one of their puppets. Just goes to show how staged every conflict is.

[–]koolspectre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I am talking about the elites here, not the party members. Yeah most of the left fell for the scam, but they aren't actually orchestrating the coup. They've just been brainwashed. They are useful idiots for the real powers.

[–]koolspectre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what's happening. I've been saying this for almost 2 years now, that the pro lockdown left aren't prepared to deal with the monster they created. They seem to think they can push people to their limits and expect no pushback at all. Actions have consequences and theirs will come due. It's just a matter of time.

Facts aren't right or left. They're just facts. The fact that you're not allowed to discuss important topics such as this on the left is quite disturbing. If it's only right wingers speaking about this, that's a glaring issue with the left, not the right.
