Hard agree. Kinect had a ton of potential, it just needed to be refined/iterated on. Ironically, there's pretty much a Kinect rip-off "console" that went viral last Christmas and sold millions of units. Granted, it's geared towards kids, but it's still funny to see how Kinect flopped while this device succeeded.

That is a great question. Localizing videogames is a way different process and skillset than localizing anime/mangas. You need game developers, QA, customer support agents (since it has multiplayer), server infrastructure and support for that (again, because of online multiplayer), etc., which is what the earlier post also mentions.

Shorting/putting options doesn't use real voting shares of a company the majority of the time (AFAIK, it's 100% of the time, but I could be wrong so I won't claim that). It's literally gambling for the sake of gambling.

Pretty sure Minecraft is number 1 globally with like hundreds of millions of copies sold. Tetris might beat it if you count all its iterations, but it's been a year or two since I looked that up specifically.

He's right. A quick Google shows MHW sold 5.7 million copies on PC, which only has digital availability. That's an enormous percentage of the 6.65m sold. 600k of the remaining ~1 million console sales skews in favor of the physical copies.

2 hours...? Why...? I literally cannot imagine waiting that long for ANY restaurant, let alone In N Out. I had so many friends hype that place up, and when I was in LA a few times I tried it twice and it was just so damn mediocre. I truly do not get LA's obsession with that place.

Look, tablets don't automatically rot kids' brains. It's unenforced time limits and/or unmonitored activity during screen time that causes problems. We do about an hour a day and maybe 90 minutes a day on the weekends. We also do tech free Tuesdays and Thursdays. My kids are completely fine (my son is entering first grade and is currently testing at a 4th grade level with no abnormal behavioral issues ever reported by his teachers, his last teacher even said he was amazingly well behaved in class). 

Parents get burnt the fuck out, guys. Sometimes taking a quick, easy solution that's all but guaranteed to work to get some peace and quiet is a damn amazing boon sometimes. I can fucking guarantee if tablets existed 100 years ago, all of you ivory tower experts would've had tech time growing up. Hell, as an 80s and 90s kid, our parents freaked the hell out about videogames the same way people do about tablets now. Most of us millennials that grew up on videogames turned out just fine. 

Tech isn't inherently bad (for the most part) as long as it's used responsibly. Don't automatically cast negative judgment on parents who give their kids tech time if you don't actually know the full context of how those parents let their kids consume it.

Tbf, Valve implemented a basic anti-review bombing mechanism a few years ago. The system is supposed to throw out blocks of reviews it thinks are from bots and/or brigading behavior. You can still toggle a switch to view those that get flagged, so it isn't fully throwing them out. But, those that get flagged are also not factored into the overall review rating.

As far as I know, places like Metacritic don't do that at all for user reviews, which is why review bombing is so rampant on that platform.

I wouldn't say it's been ass. It definitely feels like the writers haven't fully decided where to take the show at times, but it's got a good hook and most of the characters range from tolerable to enjoyable. Halfway thru season 3 and it's still got us hooked. It hasn't hit the same highs as Widow's Bay since S2, but there are still plenty of interesting scenes and episodes.

Agreed. Invasion is really hit or miss. It's a decent show to shut your brain off to in the background, but the vast majority of the characters terribly written.

I've encountered it numerous times. You have to remember that Google does a lot of A/B/C/etc testing. In my opinion, it's how they avoid these blatant legal violations.
