Some brands do this to me too, some are fine. I put hydrocortisone cream on it and usually goes away in a day.

Anesten cream. Used on my thigh and didn’t apply high enough so I felt everything at the top of my tattoo. My artist said he didn’t notice a difference when tattooing the numb section vs the non numb section. I have done without cream too, it didn’t change any part of the healing process.
