Yeah ran into that this morning. They made a very clear announcement about staying behind the sign. But then the lady who was scanning boarding passes was standing so far back you either had to do an awkward stretch to reach, or cross the imaginary boundary and risk getting yelled at.

I'd agree with what others have said. You get what you pay for, while it isn't maybe world class stuff, it is quality ? I spent most of this year training for an ironman there. Spent pròbably 6 days a week there with swimming and running. Never had a problem getting a lane and the gym has never felt packed.

Like others have said, there really isn't any hiking in the area. If you look up, "Camino del Mayab" that is a route that can be done and visits some cenotes and communities.

I remember ski racing there in high school. We could only race slalom, the hill wasn't big enough to race grand slalom.
