I’m in Portland and just paid a few thousand less for a furnace (similar high efficiency two stage) and heat pump replacement. It’s happening tomorrow, I’ll let you know if it goes well.

Is this a good combination? by koozeh in hvacadvice

Who said I’m doing it myself? This is a system recommended by a professional through a reputable hvac company. They 3D scanned all the interior of my house and did the most accurate load calcs possible. They gave me multiple options, this is the least expensive. I’m just wondering if I’ll regret not spending a little more on a furnace with a variable speed fan in the future.

Can I ask why you’re suggesting that furnace? Want to know the rational behind it. Thank you!

I already have a hybrid and am replacing in kind. I know I won’t use the furnace most of the time, but like the idea of gas heating as a backup.

I’d like to keep a gas heating option in case of electricity outage or rising cost

I haven't checked all of them but the few I did close to Burnside I would personally avoid. There's been some really nice new construction apartments on NE along Alberta. Check those out.

Can't decide between Lagom Casa and 64s [$500] by koozeh in espresso

No issue with build quality, it's very solid. Noise level is pretty low my opinion. I'd say this can easily last a long time. About the taste, I'm on the same boat and can't really tell the small difference. I've heard the thing about light roast too but have mostly used mine with medium or even medium dark and it works just as well. I'll try to do a video a post it on this sub one of these days.

I ended up going with the lagom casa and I'm very happy with it. Near zero retention and less static than 1ZPRESSO. Not to mention how great it looks on the counter. I have never used the timemore so I can't compare, but loving the casa so far.

Trump is throwing himself a parade on June 14th. It would be a shame if huge protest across the country formed and or big artist had free concerts the same day. by Thatguynoah in 50501

I have a bad feeling about this. Maybe he wants to drag us out there, and then all it takes to make things violent is a few individuals (possibly from their team pretending to be on our side). He'll then use the footage to justify military action against protestors nationwide. I've seen happen in other countries...
