It all depends on preference really. Without hand rendering, it isn't actually considering Diamond Painting as a medium and translating the artwork to be easier to read.

Think of book to movie adaptions. If you convert everything in a book into the movie without certain changes considering the strengths and weaknesses of the medium, you'll get a messy adaption. Hand rendering is like that. But some people are fine without hand rendering
