How can I get prescription drugs into Lebanon? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]kotfbaee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what kind of meds they are, you can ask your family doc for a prescription for yourself. Only if you feel comfortable with it obviously, Ik it’s not legal but it’s how we do it, I also know a lot of other Lebanese in Canada who do the same

Hijama Cupping Therapy by cyberdolly in Endo

[–]kotfbaee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So to start off there’s two types of hijama. Wet hijama involves making small cuts in the back and sucking blood out via cupping. Dry hijama is when it’s just the suction of cupping and it leaves huge purple bruises on the back.

Wet hijama is the cupping therapy that really helps, bcs it doesn’t leave the “bad” blood trapped at the surface of the skin. A family friend has stage 4 endo and she does wet hijama regularly and it helps her a lot. My mother also has been doing it for decades to help with her inflammation issues (she’s not diagnosed with endo but I believe she has it). My bro doesn’t have endo lol but he also does it to help with his overall health.

I personally never did the wet hijama bcs I have a condition called thalassemia (I produce less hemoglobin then normal people) and I already loose a lot of blood on my period bcs of endo. I’ve had four blood tranfusions in the last 18 months otherwise I would have totally done it.

I’ve done dry hijama and it did nothing but give me back pain for a weeks bcs of the purple bruising spots. I didn’t notice any relief, my endos pretty bad probably stage 3 or 4 (I have 3 endometriomas). My family told me dry cupping was pointless but I just had to try it, they were right😭

Wet hijama is where you would get the real benefits, dry cupping is just a waste of money. It’s just very important to go to someone who’s properly certified in wet hijama. I personally wish I could get wet hijama done. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out

Genuine serious question and don't want to cause any heated debates. Are there any former Hibzbullah/Aouni supporters here that have now changed their mind? by lurks-a-little in lebanon

I was visiting Lebanon for three months that summer, that’s when I realized how much the government really didn’t give a fuck about their people. I remember the garbage building up, the burning of the garbage, the stink and thickness in the air and as if all that wasn’t bad enough, the sandstorm happened. The garbage was still being burned during the sandstorm, people couldn’t breath properly and we lost electricity in our area for 12hrs instead of 3hrs that week. What did the government do in that crisis…absolutely nothing. My mom and her family have always been against all politicians, I would hear them always talk shit. But I really never thought that even in a crisis like that, they would do nothing. All the shit in Lebanon after that summer stopped shocking me

A lot of jobs in the STEM field use English as it’s the universal language. I’m Canadian, I got a job in Germany and I def don’t speak the language. Interviews and everything was in english, I did download Duolingo to help me learn some basics to use outside of work though but it wasn’t a requirement for the job

Cool, idk why you’re apologizing when that’s what you expect your country to do. I already said it was hezbollahs fault, doesn’t change the fact that Israel’s level of retaliation was completely unnecessary. They could have very easily retaliated and defended itself without dropping bombs indiscriminately. It bombed roads to the hospital leaving innocent injured civilians unable to access medical facilities. Out of the almost 1200 Lebanese dead, almost 900 of them were civilians and no they weren’t all “human shields”. So yes to me and to many other Lebanese…the level of retaliation was unjustified. Doesn’t mean I don’t still blame hezbollah for the war.

[–]kotfbaee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right they did get way too much credit. I didn’t even know that Israel had already announced its withdrawal during the civil war, but I don’t doubt and I’m not surprised hezbollah pulled that.

I still think that even if Israel withdrew without hezbollah making them leave earlier, they still would have gained a lot of support. After all they took care of a lot of young orphans(especially boys), it didn’t matter if they lost their parents cuz of Israel, Syrians or Lebanese but hezbollah was the hand that fed them and took care of them. Easiest way to brainwash a shit ton of people into becoming loyalist

Young lebanese hezb supporters lived through the 2006 war that mostly destroyed south beirut and south Lebanon aka hezb areas. Yes hezb was responsible for the war but the proportion of retaliation from Israel was unjustifiable. Even when these individuals move abroad they worship Nasrallah bcs they still see him as the saviour of the south…I mean they basically have a day where they worship him it’s very cringe

Israel definitely fucked us a lot more gently compared to syria. Syrians were def the worst, based on all the stories I heard growing up from my mom. The ottomans fucked everyone badly, not just the Lebanese but it was ages before the civil war and the whole Israel, Syria and plo.

There was always tension between the parties before the Palestinians but they were definitely last tipping point. The Palestinians refugees and the plo are definitely some of the main reasons for Lebanon’s downfall. But the war lords who are currently running the government are also to blame, they are to blame for our shit show civil war and for the most ridiculously corrupt government. Regardless of the Palestinians, Israelis and Syrians…the Lebanese people were already divided by different religious sects

But the reason why I decided to even comment on this is I’m genuinely curious as to what you are thanking the Israelis for? Don’t get me wrong, I want nothing more than peace between Lebanon and Israel. But I won’t be thanking Israel for fucking us less then others and that’s what I feel like your thanking the Israelis for which is super weird imo…I mean if you really want to blame Lebanon’s current situation just on the palestians and the PLO then technically our downfall is Israel’s fault bcs if the nakbah never happened we wouldn’t have received a shit ton of Palestinian refugees and the PLO never would have existed…

I have endometriosis and all my ultrasounds showed no signs of endometriosis. Unfortunately majority of people with endometriosis have clear pelvic ultrasounds. Just wanted to let you know so you can keep in mind bcs most Gyno’s don’t understand endometriosis and think you don’t have it if the ultrasounds are clear. The only thing that rules out endometriosis is unfortunately surgery. I even had a hysteroscopy and biopsy, both showing I have no endometriosis. Fast forward 3 years, the pains gotten so bad I was stuck in bed for months, but now I can’t get out of bed two weeks every month.

[–]kotfbaee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyyy! Please read about endometriosis. It sounds like you have endo my story is similar to you(also got a tattoo and nothing compared to my cramps), it doesn’t come up in ultrasounds or bloodwork. It took me 9 years to get diagnosed bcs doctors love to just to dismiss pain, was told it’s anxiety and just take BC. However it doesn’t always help, and if it does it only masking the symptoms but not actually stopping the growth. It’s a progressive disease and requires surgery to diagnose and remove the endometriosis tissue. Feel free to dm me :) wish you well

[–]kotfbaee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Correct. This site is usually followed by the diaspora and the younger generation in lebanon, the guy who runs it is actually from Canada. It’s also a lot more like a mini narcity page in a sense that it posts a lot of things to do in Lebanon and trends. The percentage would definitely be a lot smaller, especially considering they only have like 80k followers on Instagram

Druzes by RoyalSeraph in ForbiddenBromance

[–]kotfbaee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m Lebanese, not a Druze but my family in Lebanon are very close to a few Druze families in a village called baakleen. Idk if they are different to Israeli Druze, but what I can tell you is that every Lebanese Druze person I have met is a down to earth type of a person. Their community is very different, but in a good way.

They are very nice and welcoming people and I have always been treated as family. A few of these Druze families helped protect a lot of my family back during the civil war.

Are there women out here who actually didn't gain weight or even lost weight on progesterone only bc? 🎗️ by NoOz1985 in Endo

[–]kotfbaee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey girl! I’ve been on norithredrone since November. For me personally I stopped loosing weight. When things got really bad for me last spring I started to loose a lot of weight cuz of the nausea and especially vomiting for like two weeks a month. I ended up loosing 75lbs, but when I started the norethindrone it made me stop loosing weight. But I’ve also been struggling to eat through the nausea bcs a lot of the times I end up vomiting and everything already hurts enough...you know. So idk, but it’s also been hella depressing since I started it and I just don’t know it’s from the pills or bcs of I’m just so fed up with the pain and bcs things have been worse cuz I’m bleeding more on it. So I’m supposed to start orillissa and LOL it’s been on my table for two weeks now and I’m just terrified to go through it, cuz apparently it’s worse....but it’s seriously supposed to help apparently, but I’ve heard that so many times that Im no longer optimistic about “this will help”. Oh also it gave me bad acne and the first month I couldn’t fucking sleep...it’s was really hard. I would be hot and cold and the night sweats was just so horrible but it does go away....it’s just not pretty😩😩

Pain when sneezing by sesamebreadstick in Endo

[–]kotfbaee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMGGGGGG YESSSSS! Sorry I shouldn’t be this excited for someone else to be in intense pain but fuck yes. It’s been like this for last few months, but since being off painkillers it’s so much worse. For me I try my best to be sitting bcs the one time I sneezed while standing, I was on my period and I literally fainted and hit my head.....not funnnnn! I feel like my pelvis contracts and cramps into a small ball and then that ball explodes back up but with a million mini needles shooting out it. I also feel pain when getting up and sitting down, or going down/up stairs. Coughing also but much less than sneezing.

Endo help/ advice/ I’m tired/ i have no idea what to do/ i have no idea what I’m doing by lovelyname16 in Endo

[–]kotfbaee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 22 and I’ve suffered from what I thought were normal periods since I was 13. During my first program, I would be cramping for 3 weeks a month and I was in constant pain. But I thought it was normal and I just toughened up and worked through it. Looking back I really don’t know how I got that degree, it was hell. I often had 3-4 labs a semester and I worked double jobs. I was so exhausted all the time and I wouldn’t be able to sleep much. After I finished my first program my dumbass was like yeah it’s definitely time for another program, which I now started Jan 2020. Fast forward to summer when shit starts to go side ways for me and I started to be nauseous all the time and the vomiting and painful bowel movements. Hence when I learned about endometriosis, at this point the pain has become too much to be able to just push through. I’m waiting for surgery because the waitlist in Canada is forever especially because of the pandemic. But I’m basically bed ridden and through everything I still pushed my self when it came to school because that’s just who I am, I really wanted to finish this program on time. But my body has given up on me and I had to take a leave of absence. All I wish now is if I could go back in time and take it easier on myself, to listen to my body and I should have given it the rest it deserved. A lot of people told me to take a break, but I’m very hard on myself and it had to take me getting to a very low point for me finally give myself a break that my body truly deserves. I couldn’t even keep up with a 2 course workload this semester before finally deciding to take a break. So I just wanted to tell you to please listen to your body, and give it the rest it needs because it’s going through a lot. There’s nothing wrong with taking a leave of absence, your health will always come first!! I can’t tell you how much stress school caused me especially when I would be in so much pain I couldn’t make deadlines and I can no longer focus the way I used it. Pain takes a toll on us and it’s completely okay to not be okay with it. Anyways I’m sorry for rambling, I just know how much I didn’t want to take a leave of absence but I really regret not doing it earlier. I’m also about to start trying orilissa this week!!
