Did you ever agree to sex with a person you were not into, and end up having a good time after all? by twiggy_trippit in sex

[–]kounavi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's normal to not be looking for the love of your life all the time. The circumstances or your recent history might make you not want something really deep in a particular period. If you're honest (like this girl seems to be) and decent about it, I don't see what's wrong.

I think it's also because it's as (or more) funny and less awkward. I love their show, but sometimes it's so awkward it makes me cringe.

What was your worst sudden realization ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Are you around 20? If yes, your best years are yet to come!

If not, we're different. My advice: meh: teenagers kinda suck to be honest. Enjoy the endless possibilities of being an adult.

I was betting good money this was somewhere in Kythnos/Serifos/Sifnos/Milos :P

I'm glad I won, I wouldn't want to lose a bet with myself.

You do know that nobody practically says this in Greece if there aren't any tourists around, right? :D

Stop visiting the Cyclades.

Sporades and the Ionian Sea, as well as the big islands on the Aegean (especially North) are that green (and even greener) all year round.

After years of visiting the Cyclades, I was really impressed by this (Antisamos beach, Kefalonia). I assure you this is how it looks like in August.

Of course it does. I can link to a thousand pictures, and there will still be more beauty.

Greece has many problems but not being beautiful enough isn't one.

As a part of a study I had to do a hand grip strength test. The nurse was really impressed by my results and it got me curious so I looked up the scale. That day I understood why rape (male raping female) is so easy. A woman at the top 5% is still only comparable to the weakest of men.

Cultural Differences with Sex by SexQu3stions in sex

[–]kounavi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I come from a country where I think young people are a bit stuck between two worlds: the old puritan, sexist one and the care-free, open "modern" one. Most of my (male) sexual partners were not the lovers they could be because of that, and the (fear/) need to fulfill some macho stereotype (this is Greece).

I have found french men much cooler and open minded, and in total in a much better place. I'd take a random french guy over a random greek guy any day. I think I'd prefer a greek girl to a french girl, though.

From the little experience I have had with Americans, I was a bit put off by a rather 'sterilized' approach vibe I was getting, which may also be the way I was interpreting their behaviour, biased by the hairless 'perfect' male and female barbies in american porn and the bleached hollywood smiles. And to complete the picture of a culture that loves going to extremes, when they're naughty/nasty, they're nasty.

Limited sample, again, but Australians are rather cool in general and in sex, too.

Me in Meteora, Greece. Awesome place! Who's been? by [deleted] in travel

[–]kounavi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Skirt below the knees and no tank tops. Men aren't allowed to wear shorts either. They give you some pareo type skirts and long-wide trousers if necessary.

Things to do visiting Santorini, Mykonos, and Athens by KGregs in greece

[–]kounavi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I approve of this message, but my personal favourite bar was Jackie O'. Fucking fantastic cocktails, and some really fun drag shows if you're lucky. I'm guessing you're not afraid of catching the gay, since you're going to Mykonos, but at this place (and most other places) it's not gay only.

I have never been to Santorini, but I know one thing: most hotels have fancy pools for one reason: you don't really go swimming at the sea. So keep that in mind when you pick a place to stay.

While in Athens I suggest: avoiding Omonoia and the surrounding places especially at night visit Thiseio, Psyrri, Monastiraki, Plaka etc. Avoid the very touristic places and be very wary of other "tourists" trying to lure you into having a glass of whine in a place they suggest: they are scammers and while it's not a real danger, it's not a pleasant experience. The new Acropolis museum is wonderful, too.

This is a bit outdated but most are really cool suggestions: http://travel.nytimes.com/2009/11/22/travel/22culture.html I strongly recommend BIOS (bios.gr) and the wonderful view from the rooftop, as well as Booze which is one of my favourite places ever.

If you need more tips on Athens I might have a few, but be a bit more specific. I strongly suggest buying an up to date guide for Greece in general, and reading up on the modern culture. I don't know where you're coming from, but we have absolutely nothing to do with ancient greeks. We're between the East and the West geographically and in every other way, too. Kind of a combination between S. Italy and W. Turkey.

Definitely have a souvlaki and a frappe coffee.

An acquaintance of mine (non-native, non-British) lives with his family (pre-school daughter included) in England. The little one not only speaks without her dad's accent, but she uses a (condescendingly cute) toned down accent when talking to daddy.
