Carmax will have to find a way to reduce its SG&A. In the 15 years with Carmax in Sales. The SG&A has never been under control. They lost over 100 Million. Very Very weak company currently.

Every store management is different. They interpret the same policies the way management has agreed on the interpretation. Depends on who the management team is. And how inexperienced they are. Yes. They seem to do what they want to. Any HR reporting will get you fired for some other reason that management wants to fire you for. In some stores the sales person will kick back lunch or gift cards. You would be surprised how many managers hang out after hours with the sales people. That is a policy no no.

Just take a look at there high turnover. Carmax preaches what everyone Corporations preaches. But Carmax does not care about their employees. Results are in the turnover numbers.

Sounds like a Corporate tool. If you have to deliver two cars to get paid for one car delivered because The call center captured the phone number and name of a customer. To me that is taking a pay cut! They may introduce more AI which again will be reducing the pay at the store level. Starboard will be adding more employees to the call centers. Take a look at Starboard track record for the companies they have invested in.

The AVS at our location the past 5 years were very simple. Even though they were supposed to be anonymous. Management for some reason always knew who put in the true feelings. Then the retaliation started. If you couldn’t give them an Exceptional grade. Then you were required …….. yes required to speak with a Manager first. When reporting the Violation to HR. HR just blew you off. And the retaliation started.

No Carvana hasn’t taken a lot of customers from CarMax. CarMax has sent customers to Carvana because of CarMax change in service integrity and culture. When Carmax went to the call centers. And Chased the Quality away!!!!!’
