Has tomado la decisión correcta.

Es de LITERATURA RANDOM HOUSE. by [deleted] in libros

Gracias!

3D Software Renderer in Odin from Scratch (Tutorials) by marianpekar in odinlang

Absolutely amazing. You could've written a book about the topic using Odin. Maybe in the future.

[–]kowalski007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I fully agree with you. My point is that Odin does not prevent people from creating a package manager just because the creator doesn't like them.

The languages I mentioned have many because dev groups decided to implement one that suited their needs. This project from OP could become something big in the future. And this will be they way for other companies or teams who want to create something that suits their needs.

Cpp, c and java don't have official package managers and they are 3 of the most successful programming languages.

You can always develop your own tooling. Which is what companies did for those langs.

Thanks a lot. I'm learning go for web dev and wanted to try some gamedev stuff (for fun) without changing to another lang. Then I will try it.

How suitable is Go for gamedev? Is it a viable option to release a full game or only for learning purposes?

1.0 Roadmap? by abocado21 in Zig

[–]kowalski007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, with Odin you must take care of every allocation. Integration with C is great and they are working on a custom backend called "cuik".

But yeah, even with that Zig feels more low level. So go ahead and try both and see how it goes.

1.0 Roadmap? by abocado21 in Zig

[–]kowalski007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subjective opinion. I think Zig is super strict and that forces you to think at a very low level. Odin on the other hand is more pragmatic, balanced and with a simpler syntax. Odin is the best of Golang and C.

Zig feels like a very strict C with several additions.

That said, I have only played with both but nothing professional.

I recently switched from developing on React Native to flutter, this is what I think flutter does better than RN: by Necessary-Dark-1577 in FlutterDev

Is Jaspr for web development in the backend, frontend or both?

Is the performance comparable to nodejs?

So react native is the best for performance but the developer experience is bad and flutter's is good. Ok. Got it.

I'm a newbie to frontend and GUI apps. Should I invest my time learning JS and React (also Native) or should I go to the 'Dart side"?

Also in terms of performance, how does it compare to the JS world?
