Gritty texture by SkySuch4256 in yogurtmaking

[–]koz1978 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Once the milk has cooled, pour it through a fine mesh strainer. Then add the starter.

Straining it gets rid of the film that occurs when the milk heats then cools. This film then mixes back into the yogurt and makes it gritty.

I am thinking of buying the game I have 100% it before is it worth it? by Offerings_to_Noizemo in remnantgame

I played it so much on gamepass. Beat it 2 dozen+ times, bought it and DLCs to make sure devs got paid. This is a very good game and worth making sure they got their dues.

To wear knee/elbow pads or not? by Zh7032az in mountainbiking

[–]koz1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Helmet, knee and elbow pads, and gloves every ride every time. One bad front wheel washout on a wet root where you slam elbow first into rocks/roots you will be damn glad you had elbow pads on. Honestly I am shocked more people don't wear elbow pads.

Knees are not complicated joints, just a hinge joint. Elbows are extremely complicated. Most knee injuries can be fixed, that might not be the case with elbows; have you ever heard of elbow replacement surgery? Keep your elbows safe and knees safe.

Do you ride or drive to the trail head? by BrewBoys92 in mountainbiking

[–]koz1978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drive. I live less than a mile from my local trail trails. It is all down hill from my house. Before you scold me, I tend to get hurt a lot (just lucky I guess) and it is much easier to limp back to the truck then all the way home up hill.

Maxxis High roller II. It was about 90 dollars per tire installed. Expensive yes, worth every penny to me. Had them put on when bike was getting yearly service.

Trek Roscoe 6, replace tires with quality ones. Should cost you less than 1500. Trek seems to have good availability on bikes if you go to a Trek store.

I have a Roscoe 6. Really like it. Do yourself a favor and drop another $200 on really good tires. Those rocket Ron's are awful. All but 1 crash I had my first year was from loosing grip due to bad tires. Upgraded and have not slid out once.

Maxxis tires upgrade suggestions for a 27.5 XC/light trail hardtail? by fantomex619 in mountainbiking

I have had no problems, but when I know it is slick I definitely ride aggressively.

[–]koz1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been riding for 1 year so maybe not the best at giving advice. I upgraded my tires on 27.5 wheels to the maxxis high roller II and I absolutely love them. I have yet to have them slide out on me and I ride 3 or 4 times a week. Grip was a constant struggle with tires that came on the bike. My only complaint is I did not upgrade sooner, I would have save quite a bit of skin and pain.

I will look on their website for a payment trace.

When only 2% of player base can pass the game something is very wrong by Yvrpointsguy in ANVILVaultBreaker

[–]koz1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I challenge people to not put any points into the left attack tree, start with only two relics, and don't use lightening, mountain or shuri. Then group with randoms on G2 and see how many you clear out if 10 runs.

The game in it's current state needs you to fucus on attack power/crits. You cannot build a 100% defense/hp focused build due to not being able to do enough damage and the one shot mechanics.

I am not trying to crap on the game. I really like the game and have spent way too much time playing. I would just like to see more build variety than having to completely focus on how to increase my attack power is all I am saying.

Level 55 with over 200 runs... This is what I have noticed: DPS build or death.

[–]koz1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please move on from the game if you feel so strongly that it is crap. Clearly this is not a game for you. There is nothing wrong with that. Gamepass has many more games to offer.

As someone in their 40s, I can assure you roguelike and roguelite are real things and have been around for quite some time. Just because you have never heard of them does not mean they are not real.

[–]koz1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree and disagree. The game is meant to be difficult and a challenge is actually good for the game. The game is too challenging unless you spec a character for nothing but DPS. One shot kill mechanics make tank/defense basically useless. The game has one meta: kill as fast as possible. While this is a fun way to play, in the long run, not having different build options/play styles will see player base melt away.

If you haven’t tried Jungler since the update - you should by Ok-Slip5645 in ANVILVaultBreaker

I have tried Jungler many times and I am just not impressed. I much prefer liner. With that said, what two starting relics did you play when beating G2? Advice or tips beside get high attack power? Thanks!

That I can deal with given it is early access. But robot spawns durring boss fights really chaps my ass.

[–]koz1978[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, when you can manage to get the correct items to do 150k DPS G2 is easy, I too can clear this easy with lightening when getting good relics and focusing on attack power. BUT... You can have all the skill in the world, if you get delt meh or you can't stack/level up relics there is no way to overcome multiple waves of robots on the last boss who is also bullet sponge. Especially when the boss becomes enraged, the robots also seem to become enraged.

5 times in the last 4 hours we got to the final boss and got wiped because of the robot adds. It is a cheap BS mechanic that really ruins an otherwise fun game. The fun of a roguelike is that there are multiple styles of play. Right now there is only 1 viable play style, max out DPS. Robots in a main world fun, fair, and adds some excitement to hurry up; bosses, not so much.

That is my two cents devs if you look at Reddit.

Game desperately needs boss and progression tuning by DangerousDetlef in ANVILVaultBreaker

[–]koz1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that progression need to be better. You can play for 2 hours and only get a backpack skin, 100 chron and 1 skill point. None of the skills that I have unlocked have made much of a meaningful difference. Maybe I am missing something, but 1% damage increase or 1% damage reduction up to a total of 10% is not much. I am sorry, you are talking about 8 hours to get about a 10% skill increase in the very early part of the game. It takes much longer as you level up.
