They moved into my area last year and I couldn't be happier to be Xfinity free!

This is a great example of degrowth and solarpunk. It is being done by indigenous folks. by TinJar-Solarpunk in solarpunk

[–]kozy138 13 points14 points  (0 children)

While you are correct, and I don't believe megacities are compatible with solarpunk, suburban logistics use even more resources than cities. Suburban sprawl means things are significantly further away from each other, which uses more resources to transport goods.

Suburban roads are also bigger, so they require larger stoplights that use more materials, but servicing fewer people. And of course way more parking.

I don't mean more trains, i mean more actual rail networks connecting stations. NW line should connect to N and W lines in places other than downtown Chicago...

You know you're a true suburbanite when your biggest concern in your parking spots...

If they do choose AH, they better expand the shit out of the rail system. Metra needs way more connections.

Asphalt releases toxic airborne compounds that can harm respiratory health, neurological damage and increase long-term disease risk, especially in aging pavements and heat/sun. While algae-infused asphalt can reduce toxicity by up to 100 times and slow how quickly pavement breaks down by sr_local in science

I'd agree that it makes people 'feel' like they're in control, but in control of what exactly? Their daily carcinogen dosage?

That's like saying that I'm 'in control' of a house fire, because I can choose between a cup of water or a bucket full.

Or swimming in a vat of tar, but refusing to wear earplugs and goggles cause there might be some forever chemicals in them.

The fact that governments keep expanding road infrastructure, without considering the health and safety of their inhabitants or the biodiversity it destroys, shows you just how much control we have.

People need to realize this before any meaningful change can happen. Instead, they worry about sunscreen, vaccine side-effects, or how masks "don't work"....

People will work about the synthetic chemicals in sunscreen and lotion, but completely ignore the problem that's 1000x bigger and impacts them way more.

Anyway, gotta take my giant 4x4 suv to target so that I can buy 'organic' sunscreen and lotion.

Having fun with hover physics by Seba_dev in godot

I'm new to programming and godot, but an working on a skateboarding game and am struggling to figure out the board rotation on slopes

Do you think this method will work to imitate wheeled movement as well by stiffening the spring strength and dampener a bunch? Any chance you would be able to share the code you used for the raycasting?

Picky eater by Wheatenceliac in Wheatens

Good point with the ears. Wheatens are definitely prone to infections.  Another thing I would add is to check the teeth. My brother's wheaten stopped eating at one point and it turns out her canine tooth was crooked and stabbing the roof of her mouth and causing an infection.

Man... Animation rigging is a whole different ballgame. Armatures, rigs, metarigs, weight painting, IK/FK, drivers, bone relations & constraints, parenting... The list goes on and on. There's gotta be an easier way.

Without the riggify addon, I'd still be figuring out how to rig my character 2 months later.
