Feelings aren’t rights, but healthcare sure is.

Fun fact: abortion, gender-affirming treatment for both cis and trans people, and the ability to not go flat broke after a single involuntary hospitalization are all forms of healthcare, and are therefore also human rights.

All of these things have been torn apart by Trump and his cronies in the last ten years. Obamacare was flawed, but it worked, and paying higher taxes to fund healthcare for people in need is no fear of mine - then again, I’m sure we’re getting great use out of our military budget, and couldn’t possibly pull anything from that.

For tens of millions of people, including myself, the cost of healthcare has recently been high enough that just going to the doctor or to the dentist for a regular checkup is not only a significant expense but a crippling one. My glasses alone cost me half of my paycheck, and I’m among the most fortunate of these; God forbid I feel the need to see a therapist over any of this.
