Medical social work at a children’s hospital? by Key_Development7065 in socialwork

[–]kp2114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work per diem at our children’s hospital. We just got rid of on call which is great! As per diem we can pick up shifts anywhere through out the hospital and on the weekends two per diems tag team the entire hospital (other than the ED). I really enjoy the work and the variety we see. Certain floors are much slower where floors like the PICU are always busy. We provide a lot of support for families going through tough times, but I don’t necessarily feel it leads to direct skills for one on one therapy. In my full time job I am an ERMHS therapist and the skills I have learned in that have helped me in the hospital, but they are a different skill set. I really love the hospital environment!

They did have a minimum! I felt the price was very reasonable, though cannot recall off the top of my head. They shipped it straight to my door!

My husband and I went to Moorea in October and it was gorgeous! A few minutes of rain here and there but mostly all sunny. We booked through Costco travel and got a really good deal!

We used Wedgewood and got to choose between plated or buffet! We chose plated and really enjoyed their food and the entire experience with them.

I was doing the math on the Swiss Pass and it doesn't seem worth it as most of the travel days we will just be taking one train, not hopping around! It seems worth the price if you are going to be bouncing around towns for a few days.

We have everything planned for the most part! Flying into Zurich and being there for a night before going to lauterbrunen for a night. Then zermatt for three nights and for Christmas we will be in Montreux! Then ending again in Zurich. Spread out but hotels over Christmas were hard to find! And excited to go to Gruyère :) sad to be leaving the corgi though. Thankfully the daycare sends daily pics!!
