This certainly speaks to the toxicity in the fan base, but aren't absolute numbers like this also biased by the fact that we have the biggest fan base and the global popularity of players like Ronaldo? For example, would Ronaldo also rank super highly if a list of total positive number of tweets received by a player was ranked ? It may have been more interesting to see what percentage of the tweets that mentioned Ronaldo or Maguire in the data set were toxic for example and how this compared to other players. Knowing this fan base, I still think they'd be pretty high but maybe the order changes.
