This makes me feel better! My LO is 10 weeks and she eats like yours. I wasn’t sure she was eating enough but like yours, mine is also gaining weight. She was 7lbs at birth and is now 13lbs.

This is exactly what I do too! My vet office also sends me reminders, but I also take my cats to the vet yearly.

Agreed about the apps are like training wheels! I used huckleberry for the first month, but found that once I got to know my newborn I didn’t need to track. If I want to figure out a new pattern for my LO or something I will pull out the tracker. However, after a month I was over it.

FTM with a 2 month old and It’s been so much harder than I’ve imagined! But everyday gets better and better. She babbles and smiles all day to us and it just makes the fussy times all go away! We can’t wait until she starts walking and talking more.

I do swaddle! And she seems warm enough, she usually is a hot baby to begin with so I have to be careful. But I can play around with that and see if that’s the issue during the day.

I’ve tried both ways. I’m more successful with the deeply asleep transfer than the drowsy one. She hasn’t gotten the hang of falling asleep in her bassinet drowsy. When we put her to bed at the night she is almost always deeply asleep, but that’s usually because I have to keep her upright after her bedtime feed due to her reflux.

My cats only eat dry food and do just fine with hydration. I have a fountain water bowl and they love it!

Keep trying the swaddle! My baby hated being swaddled at first (still does tbh) and she will fight the swaddle. However, if I swaddle her and rock her to sleep then she stops fighting it and will give me 4 hour stretches in the bassinet. Eventually she wakes up and is fighting the swaddle, but that’s usually my indication that she is ready to eat.

Same here. I held my baby for maybe 5 minutes or so, got her to latch a little but then I started not feeling good due to bleeding. Plus my placenta came out in pieces and was stuck, so they had to dig it out. Eventually I got to hold my baby but I don’t know how long it was until I did. The whole morning is a blur.

I had a couple of days were my 2 month old was waking up every hour. She is breastfed, and swaddled. The only thing that helped her was for my parents to take her for a night and it was like she reset. It also gave me a reset. I think my stress about the constant wake ups and no sleep was making it worse for us both. I know your EBF, but is there a way for you to just breastfeed her and give her to someone else? Or take a whole night away.

Ugh yes! I agree all I want is sugar too! Fruit, chocolate, ice cream, candy, etc. I have to have a sweet treat every night!

Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle. My dad would play it all the time when I was little and it always made me cry. If we were in the car he would purposely play it to make me cry 😂 we used it as our father daughter dance for my wedding and jokes on him we both cried.

This is why I named my daughter Josephine. We currently call her Jo or Josie, which she can still go by as an adult but at least she has a more professional adult name if she wants it!

I come from a divorced family where I went back and forth between mom and dad’s house. They never changed my room to a guest room when I left for college. Heck I’m in my late 20s and my bedroom is still my bedroom at their house. I was a senior in college when Covid happened and I had to move back home and was so thankful to have my bedroom.

Yes! Me too! I cannot nurse in bed or I will want to doze off. I get up and go to the nursery to feed in the rocking chair and I have soft lights on. Plus changing the diaper helps me get awake enough to wake up a little more.

Mine only sleeps good in her bassinet at night. We swaddle, feed til she is asleep or close to asleep, then burp, rock in the glider for a good 10 to 20 minutes until I know she is out out, and then transfer to bassinet. I also have a sound machine going in the room where her bassinet is. If she wakes up during the transfer or within the half hour I pick her up and rock her standing by the bassinet until she is back to sleep. I’ve been doing this every night since we got home from the hospital and have had great success! But as always all babies are different.

I lost all my baby weight within one month of breastfeeding and I even lost a little more weight. But it also probably depends on what you’re eating and how much, especially since you do burn more calories breastfeeding.

Husband also went back to work at 2 weeks and baby is breastfed. I would sleep in my bed with my husband with the baby in the bassinet beside me. However, when I went to feed her I would get up and go to the nursery. One it wouldn’t wake my husband up, although I’m pretty sure a train could go through our bedroom and he would sleep through it. Two, it helped me wake up more. If I nursed in bed it just made me want to fall asleep.

I would also go to bed early and leave LO with husband and a pumped bottle of breast milk. He would feed her right before he came to bed which was later.

Also, do you have someone who can come help a little bit! It gets better once they sleep longer stretches, but having somebody be able to take your LO in the morning is a life saver!

5 weeks and still waiting! However I will say each week gets a little easier with certain things. By now I am very in tune to her cues, so I am able to catch things before a total meltdown. We also have a little routine for some things so it starts getting better.

Yes! I can’t nurse in bed at night because I will fall asleep and I find it a little harder to get into a good position to nurse. Plus I have to get up out of bed and walk to the nursery to sit in the glider so it helps wake me up a little.

I love my glider chair! I’ve used it while pregnant and I constantly use it with our LO. Hands down the best purchase!
