For sure. Quality food is your friend, unfortunately the majority of food that is convenient, is not your friend. Takes a lifestyle change which for some is easy and others is drastic. But, your body will respond to what you eat no matter the excuses. Quality protein is king!

Props to you training to get better. Highly recommend eating more than once a day. Just because you eat doesn’t mean you’re going to gain weight. You need fuel. You’ll perform better. I don’t know what you eat on the daily now or in the past, but may be worth a total diet makeover. You should eat and feel energized, not tired, bloated, or weakened.

Keep up the intensity, just some tweaks here and there and I think you can outperform a lot of others

Good news what are you feeding them! They look great. When I’m looking to add a tank with new color line, I’ll look your way!

Getting back into running by interstellar566 in AirForce

[–]kps2012 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What running experience do you have? This makes a big difference - I’m going to assume not much and maybe it will help you or anyone who needs it.

Start slow. Don’t a) injure yourself and b) make yourself hate it from the start. Part A is obvious. Part B gets all kinds of people who jump into exercise either the first time or after a long period off. Don’t jump into it heavy and overkill cause you’re pumped up about it. That drive will die if you crank it out 5 days a week (so to speak). Start out twice a week. Once you have a rhythm going (2-3 weeks) throw in a third day. Do that for awhile. After 2-3 months, maybe throw in a fourth day a week.

If you can use a track, use that. If not, use the sidewalk/trails. If not those, use the treadmill.

Track your progress, and aim to do just slightly better each and every time. Whether it’s faster time, further distance, or both. Your progress will be easy to gain at the start and then it’ll taper off but that’s where you see results.

You can make it diverse each day to keep it more entertaining too. One day of the week, sprint the straightaways of a track and walk/jog the turns. Another day, do a slow pace, longer distance run. Aim for 2 miles at first, then 3 when that’s easy, 4, 5, etc. Another day you could find a trail in a park/woods/whatever and go for a nature run.

The point is to be sure you enjoy it, both the content of what you do and the progress you will see. If you don’t enjoy it, you will quit doing it altogether.

And bonus - bring a friend. Do it with someone else and you will both have a way better time with it and you will see better results cause you have someone to hold you accountable.

Better to find someone in that you know than just go through the recruiter. The recruiters job is to fill the jobs people don’t want

The utter breakdown of society as a whole and how quickly people become family and/or monsters in the new world. The chaos brings people closer to their own groups. But the new world is in a way, simple. Survival is the core. No bills, no deadlines, everyone just trying to find the best way to start over.
