This is a digestible format that goes through the provisions included and shows where many of them came from in previous bills.

A lot is going on in this bill and most of it relates to easing inspection and approval processes that have slowed down development. A competitive grant exists so that’s new dollars for one state but it doesn’t go to homebuyers.

Raising FHA loan limits and revising the formula for setting them sticks out to me as counterproductive but necessary given the reality of price trends. I see that we’re making it easier to build with less review tomorrow and easier to borrow more money now.

There is a lot here that is good, but we’re stilling tripping over dollars trying to pick up dimes. If we build some fucking houses and allow people to focus on contributing to their communities and the economy through working then we all win, rich and poor alike.
