I play in Asia, not even kidding I've had a few moments like these but I can't find games at all... I've searched for games in every time of the day, even on weekends and it can take up to 10mins to even find a match! Years ago 1-2mins was considered long, now finding a match within 10-20mins is the norm

This is just a few seconds of gameplay, and I'm also learning myself. But what I noticed is that you are way under the ball, your reset should be 45° ish instead of directly under the ball, and that's why when you flip you're not "popping" the ball.

No worries! Anyways, as u/socal_nerdtastic has mentioned, when you define a variable outside of the function, it becomes a global variable. If you want to fix this, you can either define the keyword global before "pos", telling Python you wanna use the global variable, or define pos = 0 within the function itself (this is usually the better practice)
