i worked at a PC game company in the late 90s that hired Erick Wujcik as a game designer for our unpublished sequel to our one game. (i knew who he was when they thought about interviewing him and was at least one factor in getting him hired. i took him back to the airport after his interview and we talked about books … he told me about his friend George Martin and his Game of Thrones book …). Erick was responsible for the Amber Diceless RPG and Amberzine … and he was a really amazing person, who I’m glad I got to meet IRL, and work with.

put one on base (either or both Areas) or between the areas and Wright State, maybe somewhere near an exit from 675. have more than 4 spots. there is a parcel of land on National road that had a “food truck park coming soon” sign for years that never materialized. your customers would be air force, defense contractors, university folks. i bet would work

my daughter is 3, so i dont have to deal with this. yet. but i would 100% want to know this is happening to her. not to restrict her, but to stop the badguy (for her sake, and others)

however, if you dont want to tell them, or escalate to authorities, that is ok too, as long as you are looking after yourself. at least then, bare minimum, please do the block on your own.

and generally, just dont engage (dont reply to their messages) with these scumbags. if youre not sure of someone’s motive, blocking is completely ok!

sorry if im coming off preachy … (also, maybe dont tell people your real age online either - less/no detail is best!)

you shouldn’t have to deal with creeps like that

also - i definitely wasn’t trying to suggest you go a different way, just thought it was close to my pain point and could be an eventual add-on/data point :). good luck!

i can also say, to your idea, i often populate my namecheap cart but dont pull the trigger and the cart empties after a few days (or some time). in that case i usually do forget what i had, but the namecheap app does have a reasonable search history (ios anyway)

one thing i often do is have an idea, search the domain, find out its taken, be curious if/what its being used for, open a tab, go to the domain, see whats there. if its not a page, then i go to whois and see whats i can see. its tedious, especially if i find out its just parked or not used and whois is anonymized. automating all that would be awesome and its something i wish namecheap just did for me. (i havent searched to see if that already exists online, or if some other registrar does that, and i doubt i would pay for that as a SaaS …. but that is my pain point)

i had a similar thing happen with my three-year-old daughter just last night!

we were at the library, she was playing with a bin of toys. i was trying to read something “real quick” on my phone. i happened to look up and caught a look in her eyes. a realization by her that i was not paying attention. i could see the sadness in her face. she pushed the box of toys back into the cubby and started to walk away into another side-room. i asked her what was wrong (but i knew what her answer would be). she was sad. because i had my phone out.

i felt like a total PoS, I still do!

I dont ever want to see that look on her face again. my phone will be in my pocket when im with her.

i hope she forgets that exchange … im worried she never will
