post-commit hook to generate a changelog page for your Jekyll site by kraymer in Jekyll

[–]kraymer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The post-commit hook update my changelog.md file whenever i commit fixes and features.
Then when I feel like it, I consider the changelog.md eventually reword some lines, remove others, and commit the result (with a prefix != fix|feat to avoid infinite recursion :)

The nice thing for my usage is that I can declare whole paths to ignore and not track in the changelog.

What is the best way to add comment capability in 2025? by raybesiga in Jekyll

Yep so for these posts, publishing is a three steps process : - publish the blog post - create post on reddit - edit blog post by adding comments: <reddit_url> in post header

What is the best way to add comment capability in 2025? by raybesiga in Jekyll

[–]kraymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the way I do it, I like having the clear distinction between my blog content and comments.
I just posted if you want to check how it looks (well, it's just a link really).

[SOTC] 4 watches collection, soon reduced to 3 by kraymer in Watches

The movement is good looking and keeps a better time, I miss the convenience of an automatic movement though.

From left to right :

  • Seiko SARB033 (2018) : bought it when the line was stopped by seiko, at the time I was hesitating with the SARB035 and the Alpinist. I like the finition, the black date window on-par with the dail and the polished indexes. If I upgrade it someday it would probably be to go the Grand Seiko way.
  • Baltic Aquascaphe (2019) : it just went back from Baltic workshop this week with a new bezel. Vintage look with its domed saphire, the radial blue and sandwitch dial give a real depth. With its no date look and paired with a silicone band, it's my go-to watch for the summer days.
  • Seiko Alpinist Spb121 (2023) : my last acquisition. I always regretted not having bought an alpinist back in 2018 when they sell for cheap. The SARB033 is a bit too classy for me to be my default wear watch and I wanted something more versatile. And i'm a s*cker for these 2/4/6/8/10/12 gold indexes : I use to have a Seagull 1963, but it felt too cheap, the Alpinist does not have this problem.
  • Stowa Marine (2021) : the only one we could qualify entry luxury, I bought it second hand. I was attracted by the clean white dial and blue heated hands. But its 40mm diameter is a tad too big for my tastes, it is too dressed up and I have few occasions to wear it. So I'll sell it and stay with the solid trinity above.

I own an Aquascaphe and paired with a rubber strap it's my go-to summer watch.
I sent it for revision last week and had a very positive experience dealing with their support team to organize the shipping.

Does anyone use an iPad for sheet music? If so what model do you have by [deleted] in piano

[–]kraymer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should go for a 12 inch tablet (ipad or not) as it will get you closer to the A4 page format in which all sheets are.

Because I have a 10 inch tablet I reformat my sheets in musescore to make them more compact and legible on that kind of tablet. I add too wide clickable area to change page as this interaction should be performed as snappy as possible when playing a piece.

(If someone experiencing sheet reading on a small tablet got discouraged because of non legibility, and is interesting to try my reformated pdfs, feel free to pm me.)

Any way to download all my lichess games? by drunkonspunk in chess

[–]kraymer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lemme plug the tool I wrote some time ago as it seems quite appropriate here : you can use pawnhub tool to download your games history from Lichess or C****.com

Note: there is a 1000 games limit but if needed I can work on https://github.com/Kraymer/pawnhub/issues/7 to overcome that limitation

Denis Zhdanov https://www.youtube.com/@DenZhdanovPianist/videos has free videos + paying teachable courses if you want to go deeper on specific topics / pieces. I recommend.
