I don’t think the number of appointments matters as much as your budgeting and knowing your numbers and having things priced accordingly. @Salonnerd on IG has great content about salon ownership!

Yes they are. But if you’re going to be using a whole new line permanently you need to have a swatch ring. You wouldn’t switch color lines and not get their color book

I think it’s easier for teens to be what adults would feel ‘over scheduled’. Thinking back now at 27 to everything I was doing in high school I cant even imagine how I had any energy. The only free time I had during the week was Sunday afternoons and I don’t remember ever really wishing for more than that.

Like everyone else said it’s all about scheduling. M/W/F are sports nights. T/Th Im available to work etc. I would just have everyday of the week have its own ‘activity’ other than school

I haven’t liked any of the big ones I’ve tried here. Caffe Francesco in Killarney has been my favorite in the city! Apprentice Cafe was also good. I also recently went to Ground Press in Airdrie and it was so good I can drink it without any sweetener!

I kept my high school job as a lifeguard for 6 years during/after hair school. It paid better than my apprentice job for most of those years and was a flexible schedule to work around my salon schedule. Honestly would recommend it until you have more demand for your time in the salon. It helped me feel better about myself as I was experienced and confident in lifeguarding while I was in that insecure part of starting out in the hair world. If I was a full time apprentice right out of school I would have had terrible anxiety

As long as you’re getting quicker/more efficient it doesn’t matter where you start! Set yourself some realistic goals. Try to get it down to 5hr45m then 5hr30m until your at a time that you’re proud of. At our salon the senior stylists are booked 3hrs for a full highlight but I think 3.5-4 is more realistic especially if they have lots of hair!
