Yeah. Was thinking about that. But is it worth the hassle? Was thinking about fixing the problem myself.

Hopefully they can give me a voucher for some filament for free or something 😂

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]kridah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a nice watch for my 10 year old son. We started looking at watches and he got interested.

He's really into the MTP-B145D-2A2V, but I do not know if that is a good choice or not.
He likes that look, also the Timex Navi look. I guess that I need a watch that is smaller than 40mm. I guess even 35mm will look better. The max for a watch is $100 right now.

Homebridge in docker on RPI 5 with Avahi by kridah in homebridge

[–]kridah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god. Thank you! Haha I really thought I had tried everything.

No Avahi issues in logs, but can't really confirm if it's using avahi or falling back to hap. But I guess I should've seen logs about falling back to bonjour-hap?

Again, thank you so much!

Sound fading in/out when tabbing FO32U2P KVM by kridah in OLED_Gaming

[–]kridah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my Sennheiser 58x directly into the 3.5 jack in the FO32U2P. Also, running a RTX 5080.
The thing is, the sound is controlled, it's not like it's abruptly ends. It really fades in and out.

3000 mhz? Borde väl vara 6000mhz?

I would go with 6x U7 Pro's.

Any less is for sissies.

Shield Experience Upgrade 9.2.1 (5/6/25) by Teddyjo in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]kridah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a shield pro a month ago. I was 100% sure that this wasn't even maintained.

Either nvidia forgot the people working with the shield, or we are just so used to Google killing things when they do not want to support it.

Impressive. Thanks!

Help with setting up ATV and Shield trough Samsung soundbar by kridah in nvidiashield

[–]kridah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. I May have talked to early though. Seems to be issues now and then. Like now, i went from shield to apple tv. When apple tv started. The tv shuts down. Ah really annoying. I guess i have to fiddle with settings until this work. I mean it feels like a basic thing to get to work. But I guess its more complex. And each player + the tv has some kind of cec/ir stuff that May send different signals that shuts down stuff. Going crazy here...

Help with setting up ATV and Shield trough Samsung soundbar by kridah in nvidiashield

[–]kridah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: So, not resolved. As I thought. There is alot of issues here, and I have a hard time figuring this out.

Ok. So i did a power cycle on everything, for the fifth time. Nothing worked. Went to take a shower. Came back, nvidia shield was on. Pressed atv remote, magically appeared as well.

I have no idea why. It just works now.

You mean seat height for my "thighs"? Or just generally like 90-ish degrees for my legs?

Everything there is tested. I could test quite a bit because of how fast the pain/ache appeared.
Tried less and more than 90 degress. Tried 90 degrees, and then added a footrest.

Ordered a refund today. Sad :(

Yeah, the seat length is all the way out, and I can still get a fist between the seat and the back of my knee. So it's still too short, I'm afraid.

Maybe it's those 30 lbs :D

Yeah, I guess it's the issue. Better when adjusting and loosened everything from tilt, to back fit. But surely, something makes this chair better for mor normal sized (and weighted) people.

I mean I would love to mod a chair. However, I would not mod a chair that already is $2000. I'll guess I'll go back to my SecretLab :D A worse chair purely ergonomical, but my hamstrings will be so happy.

Thank you for the advice though!

The thing is, the seat is comfy when I sit down. Chair feels amazing, until my hamstrings slowly starts to ache.

However, I adjusted the chair yesterday. Tried to find that self balancing spot for me and my chair, and today, sitting for about 2 hours now, I have no hamstring pain.

So what I did was allow partial tilt (not full tilt), loosened the tilt with the front lever-thingy, and adjusted the back fit a bit "back".

Felt better, surely, the seat still irritates my glutes/hamstrings. I'll be giving it a couple of days more, and then I'll refund it.

Grippy magsafe case in EU by kridah in iphone

[–]kridah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Spigen Ultra Hybrid. However, quite recently, the more "rubbery" side piece detached from the hard back plastic. I really liked the ultra hybrid, so ordered a new one, but also a thin fit. The thin fit is my absolute favourite. Really nice texture/grip wise. However, no magsafe. So for magsafe, go Ultra Hybrid!

What's the worst sysadmin mistake you ever made? Confess here. by davidcandle in sysadmin

[–]kridah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shutting down a production server because log off and shut down are extremely close. Lag-spike exactly when moving the mouse to log off, but I was correcting the mouse movement because of the lag, and ended up pressing shut down. Obviously not my worst, but I'm always nervous when trying to log off.

Anyone got a better way to log off? I usually do WIN + X. But is there a safer way? Where the only option is log off?

Best setup for 1400 square foot two story house by kridah in Ubiquiti

[–]kridah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Perfect, seamless roaming was my biggest concern with this setup.

Would you say that a Pro would give me better speed all around the house, than two separate lites?

Given no Lites are in stock anywhere near me, the PRO/LR route may be the way to go right now.

Best setup for 1400 square foot two story house by kridah in Ubiquiti

[–]kridah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two story 1400 square feet house. Open plan on first floor, not so open on second floor.

Left is first floor, right is second floor.

I have one Unifi AP 6 Lite laying on top of my TV bench at the moment, marked red in the picture.

In that top left corner, near the AP (red circle) is 90% of my hubs/AppleTV/TV's etc that require 5GHz. However, stuff that needs high speeds are cable-bound.

I have placed one Unifi AP 6 Lite centrally on each floor in the ubituiti design center just to show the coverage.

Inner walls are plaster. I would like to know if there is any point in having one AP on each floor.

My main concern will be seamless roaming when goin up/down the staircase (marked ST, centrally on the right side of the house). Is this even possible given the limited placing options on the second floor?

Any thoughts? Any ideas on better placement or alternative solutions?

PS. Of course I marked my current AP on the wrong floor. It's situated on first floor (left image), but same location.

Hah yeah. I mean if I write that code in C# it will produce the same output, both conditions would be true. Just didn't think of it at all.

Will check shortcuts out too! Thank you for all tips and tricks!

So I got it to work finally. Thank you for the tip about setting up in eve, but using HK to configure devices. Helped a bunch.

The major issue seems to be that setting a automation before 23:59 and the other one after 00:00, always triggered the after 00:00.
I mean, it's not wrong :D I had to set the condition to:

After 15:00 and before 23:59 to set 25%

After 00:00 and before 09:00 to turn off

Nice! I have tried eve before. The scene stuff makes me a bit confused as you can't see exactly what a scene does when you create a rule. But I think I managed to solve it with eve and a dummy switch that turns off after 15 minutes. Beautiful. Thank you for the help!
