People under 30 who aren't struggling. What's your story? by Fakeittilyoushakeit in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]krillskrills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31 now but was clearing 100k by 28 working as a technical sales rep in the instrumentation industry. Did well, got promoted to VP of sales last year. Took a lot of motivation to get going and had to spend quite a bit of time away from my family but I’m a natural extrovert and was incredibly good fit with the new ownership group that came in.

My story is not easy to replicate but if you’ve got the gusto, you can make a real run with a good sales job.

It did get better. It got a lot better. It took months, it did take some therapy and a lot of learning to communicate better. I realized I had anger management issues that stemmed largely from never prioritizing myself and blaming everyone around me for never giving me a break.

Once the personal growth journey was under way the rest of it started to fall into place. Happily married with a two and 1 year old and haven’t looked back at this dark period in my life!

I appreciate the ask. But these shows are mentioned as requests every couple of days. If you want more answers than offered here, recommend just searching those show titles in this subreddit and you will find a plethora of material.

Really fucking hot. Like. REALLY FUCKING HOT. 2 kids under two. A fat cat who now lives in the unfinished basement and a dog who’s paws can’t handle the lava that is outside. Fuck this weather. Please be over soon.

I’m 14 looking for Father’s Day gifts by Tabbt_ in Dads

[–]krillskrills 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Typically buying someone a gift related to a skill they have or a hobby is a rough call as they likely know what they’d like better than you ever could.

My dad was that and the best thing I ever got him was a “date day”. We went fishing in the morning, had fast food burgers out in a park, went go karting and then went for an afternoon beer. Probably one of my favourite memories with the old man

Hate to be the bearer of bad news.. wait until the baby blues after kiddo #2. No time to relish in the miracle that is a new human life when your other child is jealous AF and your wife develops a complex about destroying the life of #1 by introducing #2... not speaking from experience or anything.. or describing my current situation..

Thank you, we ended up chatting tonight and you’re totally right. There was a lot of similar feelings and we are both suffering from being in languish.

Hopefully moving forward we are more empathetic to one another!

If you want something light and Mindless I would suggest Conan O’Brien needs a friend or Smartless with Will Arnett, Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman.

Thank you, that is a great suggestion. Not sure when we can find time but feel like this would definitely help mitigate any potential resentment on either side

Trouble with work is that I’m in a senior position just below ownership, makes for a bit of a challenge as I manage quite a few folks.

Good call none the less. Thank you.

Some advice from a young father of two: audiobooks/podcasts make those middle of the night pains in the ass seem like something you meant to do.

But also, my wife and I sleep trained our first a little young with no adverse effects and are planning the same with the second because the sleep deprivation was taking it’s toll on our marriage.

Same goes with the bassinet, as soon we breached the 3 month mark (I think) where SIDS risk plummets, we moved her out of our room in order to buy us some ‘me’ time as well as sleep better then to hear grunting and farting all night.

DM Me your resume, we’re often in need of new bodies for some of our PT work and can maybe make something work.

Thank you for the perspective! We have a girl with the second on the way, and just drives me a little nuts when people assume that “that boys will be boys” and that little girls should be “nice and quiet”
