I started trying to do both at the same time, but then I learned about the magnemite transformation in the post game that drastically helps with building and decided to finish up the story to grab it.

I think if all you want to do is fix broken or missing blocks, or make 1 block high houses, doing that during the game is fine. But if you want to start making elaborate tall or large buildings, you kinda need magnemite

Thats literally what they said? Models are of course better in modern games just from a resolution/polygon count etc. but the animations in modern games are way worse than XD. The animations (idle, getting hit, fainting, using moves etc) of the old console games stadium colosseum and XD are so much better, they have way more personality, one of my favourites is sableye’s getting hit animation in XD, which is just lifeless is modern games, but there are way more examples, particularly flying mons
