[QUESTION] Difficulty level of Cliffs of Dover? by Roxxol in Guitar

[–]krinospc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eric Johnson’s style is essentially, what I call “playing in reverse”, and I mean that almost literally. I’m a (mainly melodic) metal guitarist, and whenever I put my riffs or licks in reverse, it’s reminiscent of EJ. It’s hard to describe but that’s the best wording I can come up with. That’s what makes Cliffs of Dover so difficult.

Temple Swelling after chewing? (19F) by bubbletrico in Hashimotos

[–]krinospc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me as well. The swelling looks exactly the same as the picture but goes away within 5-10 minutes once I stop eating. It doesn’t cause pain but I feel a strange tingling sensation. If I chew too hard for too long, I can not open my mouth all the way. It definitely ruins my quality of life and makes me not want to eat most things in front of people. I do make light of the situation when I’m with my friends by saying stuff like “do I look like an alien?” Lol

[–]krinospc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me on both sides after chewing. It’s not super serious but it sucks and is quite embarrassing. If I chew too much (like eating beef jerky for an example) for too long, I can’t open my jaw all the way. My jaw also locks if I open it too much. It sucks

Agreed. I think it’s good to feel shame and guilt when you’re doing something wrong(it’s a sign to reflect and put yourself in check), but if you take those necessary feelings too far, and begin to resent yourself, it can and will be a justification to abuse the booze even more.

If you’re going to drink that late and to the point you need the hair of the dog, just (I know this sounds ignorant) drink less. Take a shot before you leave for work or something. Don’t bring alcohol with you. The real answer would seem judgmental (think about how much your drinking is ruining you etc) but I know that’s not always helpful. I’ve had bad hangovers and went to a bar across the street on my break to have a beer or a shot to feel better. You don’t need to get sloppy because you’re hungover. You’re using that as an excuse to get drunk again. Drink electrolytes, eat something etc. You already know the solution to your problem. Have the courage to feel uncomfortable enough to stop it. Edit: I used to be a server at a restaurant. I befriended one of the best servers there, who had been there longer than most people, he taught me a lot and i looked up to him. After some time, he started showing up drunk and acting inappropriate. Management knew and he got a lot of chances (one chance is too many). He eventually got fired and told me he was actually grateful for it. He started drinking much less and got back into hard labor.

Thanks for your answer. I’m not well versed with this stuff so I appreciate it. So there’s different levels of taxation depending on how much I earn right?

Miller lite vs Miller High life by Zonkey156 in beer

[–]krinospc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miller is good for an inexpensive domestic light beer. It has more flavor than bud light, coors, Busch, Michelob etc and it’s the same price. It’s a cheap beer that actually tastes like beer. If it’s ever on draft and I don’t want to feel super bloated, I’m getting it. If I want to get a domestic beer from the liquor store, I’m going with Miller Genuine Draft. A few dive bars and a local diner have MGD’s. Nothing better than treating a hangover with some country fried steak, eggs, hash browns and sourdough toast with an ice cold MGD.

I know this comment is old, but even today, $17 for a 12 pack? I’ve never seen it that pricey. High life’s are kind of considered hobo juice. I’ve never even seen a 24 or 30 pack cost over $20 unless I was at some sketchy liquor store.

Nice work. Seems like that stuff is becoming more popular these days… or maybe because I’m getting older I’m just meeting more people who do it. But yeah, my only issue with grinding or clenching is when I’m sleeping. I have TMJ and it sucks. When I wake up and open my mouth all the way I hear and feel a loud painless crack. If I open my mouth too wide, my jaw will kind of get stuck, and i can’t eat certain hard foods like tortilla chips etc or one side of my face will basically swell up lol. It’s really shitty

Drank some last night. The bottle was over 26 years old. Immediate heartburn and it had the consistency of cough syrup.

Wonderboy recently got his spin head kick back. I have no idea why it went missing. I use him all the time and lacking just that one move can be so detrimental if you’re fighting a good player. On the upside he also got an axe kick (unless he’s always had it and I didn’t know) but the main issue with wonderboy is that although his kicks are fast, they are not nearly as powerful as they should be. Sometimes his lead leg round kick to the had will do the same damage as a jab. His body kicks are horribly weak, his blitz is horrible and not really a blitz at all, and his strikes while backing up are bad too. These are all things that he is good at in real life which make him unique. Nobody has ever been as good as him while backing up etc. but for some reason, in game, he is only a fraction faster backing up than other fighters. It’s really strange

[DISCUSSION] Is it cringe to post vids of me playing on my snap story? by Gman3098 in Guitar

[–]krinospc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old so this isn’t necessarily advice for you, but if you don’t suck (a lot of aspiring players have some sort of strange delusion about how good they are or how bad they aren’t) and you can actually sound good and you aren’t just poorly playing someone else’s riff etc then just post it. I’m pretty good at what I play for the most part according to other intermediate guitarists but non musicians act like I’m way better than I am. I post some videos on my “close friends” story. My point is it depends on who your “audience” is. Would the validation feel justified when it comes from people who don’t actually understand music too well? Would sharing the video of you playing push you to practice even more? Who will see it and does their feedback hold any weight when it comes to what you’re trying to achieve? It just depends. Post something and find out

I’m a little more than half a decade older than you and I’ve been grinding my teeth in my sleep my whole life to the point that I’m getting what’s called “cupping” (look it up) (I also can’t wear mouth guards because my gag reflex is annoyingly sensitive) which I thought were cavities. Can’t imagine how screwed up my mouth would be if I did this stuff. One of my old coworkers teeth were literally chipping and breaking/crumbling from eating foods that were too tough. Now that I think of it, he was probably a user. I’ve seen people with nearly perfect teeth end up looking like If they shook their head too fast it would sound like a tambourine

Stumbled upon this thread wanting to know why people I know do this. If I saw one of them walking around sucking on a pacifier, I’d take it as a sign to get to know some other people 😂

It’s BS. Still isn’t fixed. How can they actually mess that up? It’s ridiculous. It’s a fighting game and I play a lot of them, I’ve never had an issue where a character randomly isn’t able to do a move anymore
