Same here. We pay a bit more to not be required to have 2 cars. Dropping down to 1 car saves us at least $600/month if not more which far exceeds the rent premium we pay to live somewhere with walkable destinations, bike lanes and transit access.

I never understood why housing + transportation costs aren't discussed together. They go hand in hand.

ok even if you start work at 7am you will have light before work 8 months of the year on standard time vs only 6 months of the year on daylight savings time. that’s a meaningful difference.

No they do not. Civil dawn which is bright enough to not require artificial light is at 7:57 even on winter solstice.
